New Israeli massacres in Gaza kill at least 87 in 24 hours
DaysofPal- Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip has claimed the lives of at least 87 Palestinians and wounded 290 others in the past 24 hours, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health in the besieged enclave.
This brings the total number of confirmed fatalities since the start of the war to 53,573, with 121,688 wounded. The ministry further noted that many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble, unreachable due to continued bombardment and the destruction of essential infrastructure.
The Israeli occupation forces have significantly intensified their military operations since dawn on Tuesday, with concentrated air and artillery strikes targeting Gaza City and central areas of the Strip.
Local sources report a series of deadly attacks across the territory. In one of the most devastating incidents, Israeli warplanes bombed Musa bin Nusair School, located in the Al-Daraj neighborhood east of Gaza City. The school, which had been serving as a shelter for displaced families, was struck at dawn, resulting in the deaths of 12 civilians.
In the central Gaza Strip, an Israeli strike targeted the Radi petroleum station west of the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing 15 people, including children. In the city of Deir al-Balah, an Israeli shelling of a home belonging to the Abu Samra family led to the deaths of 13 individuals, as reported by an Al Jazeera correspondent.
In northern Gaza, Israeli forces shelled a house belonging to the al-Muqaid family in the Jabalia area, killing seven people, including women and children. Another attack targeted a house in Ezbet Milim in Jabalia camp, resulting in nine more deaths and injuries.
Further reports indicated that Israeli warplanes launched ten separate air raids on Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and on areas east of Jabalia Al-Balad.
In the southern Gaza Strip, an Israeli bombing struck a tent sheltering displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, leaving several injured. Earlier, seven Palestinians, including women and children, were killed when an Israeli strike targeted a school west of Nuseirat refugee camp that was also serving as a shelter.
The Gaza Strip has been enduring a week of continuous shelling, airstrikes, and widespread destruction of residential neighborhoods. Thousands have been forced to flee their homes under tragic conditions, many of them for the second or third time. The humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating, with civilians facing extreme shortages of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza also accused Israeli forces of intensifying a systematic campaign to disable the health sector. Israeli airstrikes directly targeted the European Gaza Hospital east of Khan Younis. A fire broke out in the hospital's generator system as a result, and civil defense crews worked to extinguish it.
The Indonesian Hospital was shelled by Israeli forces, which struck the generator area and caused a fire that raged for hours while civil defense teams were unable to get to the scene. Panic spread among patients and medical staff trapped inside.
In another serious escalation, Israeli warplanes bombed the main pharmaceutical warehouse at Nasser Hospital. The Ministry of Health reported that the attack destroyed large quantities of the few remaining medical supplies, worsening the already critical shortage of life-saving medications.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging what Palestinian officials and rights groups describe as a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip. The campaign has involved widespread killing, destruction, starvation, and forced displacement while ignoring international appeals and legally binding orders from the International Court of Justice calling for an end to hostilities. The ongoing, US-backed war has resulted in more than 174,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children, with more than 11,000 others still missing, many believed to be buried beneath the rubble. Hundreds of thousands remain displaced, facing a future marked by uncertainty, trauma, and immense loss.
