Mohamed Mandour
Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Egypt's Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, met with Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, President of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH), on the sidelines of the international conference "Citizenship, Identity, and the Values of Coexistence' held in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting marked a significant step toward strengthening collaboration between the two leading religious and academic institutions, culminating in the announcement of several strategic initiatives in the fields of fatwa, capacity building, and scientific research.
Key outcomes included plans to organize a joint international conference on the intersection of fatwa and the social sciences, the launch of an annual forum on the 'Fiqh of Coexistence,' the development of collaborative research projects, and the design of specialized training programs for muftis.
A memorandum of understanding is also set to be signed during Dr. Al Dhaheri's upcoming visit to Cairo. This promising partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing religious scholarship, enhancing institutional cooperation, and promoting global peace, justice, and social harmony.
