Facility for World Aquatics Championships to be held in Singapore unveiled
Organisers of the World Aquatics Championships said swimmers will be able to go faster, thanks to the depth of the competition pool. At three metres, it means the water is calmer and there is less turbulence. Major works to the temporary swimming arena have concluded, after a car park area in Kallang was converted. The team had a month to lay down the foundation work and another five months to put it all together. The World Aquatics Championships will be held from Jul 11 to Aug 3. More than 2,500 athletes will compete in 77 medal events across six aquatic disciplines. Nadine Yeam reports.
