US regulators have asked Wall Street firms racing to launch Solana exchange-traded funds to revise their paperwork, a sign that the novel crypto investment products may be available to investors soon. At least three asset managers have been asked to amend their US Securities and Exchange Commission filings to address two key features of the funds that track the world's sixth-largest cryptocurrency. At issue are how funds will handle crypto redemptions and whether they plan to allow investors to earn rewards by pledging Solana tokens to help validate blockchain transactions, a process known as staking.

Hedge Funds Slash Bullish Yen Bets as Asset Managers Stand Firm

Leveraged funds reduced their bullish yen bets even as asset managers turned more positive, underscoring uncertainty over the Japanese currency's outlook. Short-term funds funds cut their net long positions in the yen by 12,183 contracts in the week ended May 27, their biggest reduction so far this year, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission data. Meanwhile, asset managers increased their bullish yen wagers by 3,218 contracts over the same period.

City's Tussle With Labour Heats Up Over Pensions, Cash Savings

The tussle between asset managers and the UK government over mooted pension and savings changes aimed at boosting investment in the domestic economy is intensifying. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves refused to rule out forcing pension funds to allocate money to UK assets in a Bloomberg Television interview on May 13. The Treasury is planning to legislate to give itself the power to mandate investment by pension funds.
