Former AFL player accused of violent attack on reality star ex-girlfriend
Former Fremantle Docker Ryan Crowley has appeared in court accused of a jealousy-fuelled attack on his former girlfriend, ex-Married at First Sight star Lauren Dunn. Crowley, 41, allegedly strangled Dunn, 34, and smothered her face with a pillow to the point she lost consciousness when he became enraged about email conversations between her and another man. The Perth Magistrates Court was told the pair got into a verbal argument shortly after she had invited him over to her Claremont apartment about 8pm on Tuesday, before it escalated into violence. After their verbal spat, Dunn asked Crowley to leave and even phoned triple-0 when he refused, the court was told. It is alleged she chose to tell the operator the call was a mistake and ended it because she frightened. The court was told Crowley then snatched Dunn's phone and searched her laptop for proof that she had cheated on him, and assaulted her when he came across messages from another man. Crowley allegedly threw the victim to the floor, with her head slamming on the ground. While she was on the floor, it is alleged Crowley strangled the PR-guru, grabbing her around the neck and using his hand to cover her mouth and nose. The pair struggled and Dunn lost consciousness for some time, before the accused let go, the court was told. It is alleged Crowley violently shook her, slamming her head on the ground multiple times. The next thing she remembers is Crowley lying on her couch and asking her to come cuddle him, the court was told. When she told him to leave, he allegedly said no and instead got into bed beside her. She could not call for help because Crowley had her phone and laptop. The next morning Crowley allegedly stopped her from leaving her home through the front door, grabbing her shirt and scratching her stomach, leaving her bleeding and with swelling. When she tried to stop him going through her laptop, he allegedly grabbed her by the neck and squeezed before covering her face with a pillow and pushing down hard. The court was told she again lost consciousness before Crowley got off her. Dunn broke down in tears, terrified, and begging for her phone, the court was told, before she able to run to a nearby cafe and call for help. The former footballer was later arrested at Perth Train Station and charged with nine domestic violence-related charges. The prosecution says this incident is serious and Crowley could be facing substantial prison time if found guilty. He is expected to fight the allegations. Crowley was granted bail with a $20,000 surety during his appearance in court on Thursday. He must not leave WA and must not contact Dunn. His will next appear in court on July 24. Crowley played 196 AFL games, with 188 of those with Fremantle and a further eight for Essendon where he was a top-up player following the supplements saga. He claimed Fremantle's Doig Medal in 2012 as the club's best and fairest player, and played in Fremantle's grand final loss to Hawthorn the following season. Katie Price addresses JJ Slater split rumours as she says 'I don't feel free'
Katie Price has spoken out on her relationship with JJ Slater, after fans feared the couple had split following a social media silence and reports they spent Christmas apart. Katie Price has addressed speculation surrounding her relationship with boyfriend JJ Slater after fans suspected the couple had parted ways. The 46-year-old glamour model and 31-year-old Married At First Sight star have been together for over a year, but raised eyebrows when they stopped appearing on each other's Instagram feeds and spent Christmas apart. Although Katie's representative assured the Mirror last week that the couple were still together and "continuing as normal", Katie made some cryptic remarks about her relationship on Married At First Sight expert Paul C. Brunson's podcast. When Paul advised her to feel "free" and "happy" with a partner, Katie revealed: "I've never had that in any relationship. Never had any of them." She then spoke about JJ, saying: "And JJ, he's the most kind, genuine, easygoing, chilled person. But do I feel my happiest and do I feel free? No. It's not a reflection on him, maybe that's what I need to change for myself." Paul suggested that Katie needed time to herself to experience what freedom feels like, reports the Mirror. Katie explained: "Freedom to me is like when I took my kids to Thailand for a month, just me and them. We felt free. Just little life experiences, seeing things, taking them to little adventures." The OnlyFans star, who has been married three times, added: "I just don't want to answer to anyone, I want them to fit in with me." Discussing her relationship concerns regarding JJ, she explained: "When you meet someone, it's natural to want to be with them all the time. Then the mistakes I've made in the past are then you're with them all the time. "It becomes literally 24/7 because I've never been out with someone who's had a nine to five job." She added: "They've always had a job where, I suppose it's adaptable that they come with me. So in the beginning, that's all nice, but then you get into the habit of they're about too much, to the point you start not seeing your friends, because you're with them all the time, and then you get into this situation where they're so used to being with you all the time that then when you do say, 'I'm gonna go and see a friend,' it doesn't seem normal because you haven't done it. "So I'm a bit worried that I've got like that with JJ." However, despite her concerns, Katie professed in a recent podcast with her sister Sophie that JJ is "The One". It hasn't always been easy for the couple, though, as the formerMarried at FirstSight contestant got a rough ride from his future brother-in-law. Harry Brooks, who is married to Katie's sister Sophie. When JJ, who shacked up with Ella Morgan, on Married At FirstSight, after failing to click with his telly bride, Bianca, into the family group chat, Harry mused: "What... another one?"
