Aaron Judge's Solo Home Run Against Reds Has Fans Talking
Aaron Judge's Solo Home Run Against Reds Has Fans Talking originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Yankees faced the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Monday night, looking to take the first game of a three-game series against the NL Central squad. Advertisement In the top of the first inning, Yankees captain Aaron Judge wasted no time, stepping into the box for his first at-bat and turning on a 94 mph fastball from Nick Lodolo. The ball soared into the left-field seats, a 398-foot, no-doubter that gave New York an early 1-0 lead. It was Judge's 28th home run of the year and another signature swing in a season where he's looked completely locked in. Entering Monday's game, he was second in the majors in home runs and first in slugging percentage while anchoring a Yankees offense fighting for the top spot in the AL East. Although the crowd was fired up after the hit, the real fireworks started online. Fans flooded X with reactions to Judge's latest moonshot: Advertisement 'One of those where you feel silly as the LF for taking any steps towards the wall to try and catch it,' one fan said. '94 down the middle? Sometimes just walking the guy is okay,' another wrote. 'I refuse to believe this baseball only traveled 398 feet,' one fan wrote. 'Aaron Judge heard the Cal Raleigh MVP talk and had to remind y'all,' another said. 'I was freaking out saying I can't wait to see how far that went, under 400 was so underwhelming it didn't feel correct,' one fan said. 'Yeah, Aaron Judge is definitely going on a home run rampage here shortly,' another fan wrote. Advertisement Now, in 2025, he has somehow elevated his game even further. Coming into the game Monday against the Reds, he led the league with a .367 batting average and ranks second in RBIs (61). Red Sox star Liam Hendriks and his glamorous wife are sent heinous comments from furious fans
Cancer-surviving MLB star Liam Hendriks has hit back on social media at disgusting death threats he and his wife, Kristi Hendriks, have received after his performance on Wednesday night. Hendriks, a Boston Red Sox reliever, only got two outs but allowed three hits and three earned runs in the loss to the New York Mets. The game was tied when Hendriks emerged from the bullpen, and the Red Sox were down three in the 5-1 defeat when he sat in the dugout. That performance prompted baseball fans to take things a step too far for the 36-year-old's liking. 'Threats against my life and my wife's life are horrible and cruel. You need help,' Hendriks said Thursday on his Instagram story. 'Leaving comments telling me to commit suicide and how you wish I died from cancer is disgusting and vile. Maybe you should take a step back and reevaluate your life's purpose before hiding behind a screen attacking players and their families.' 'Whether you do it from your 'fake accounts' or are dumb enough to do it from your real account. I think I speak for all the players who have had to deal with this in their career when I say: enough is enough.' Cancer-surviving MLB star Liam Hendriks has hit back on social media at death threats Hendriks hit back at the negativity on Thursday morning with a scathing response The negative comments were quickly buried by positive remarks by his fans on his latest social-media post from Sunday. 'You're inspirational for cancer patients and survivors. Been battling a brain tumor for 7 years now. Whether it's a good or bad day on the field I'm always rooting for you Liam,' one fan said. 'If anyone's got a problem with Liam you gotta go through me!' another Hendriks supporters said. Hendriks was a three-time MLB All-Star before he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, announcing he had the disease in January 2023. In April 2023, Hendriks announced he was in remission. He made his return to baseball the next month. Hendriks did not stay with the Chicago White Sox for much longer, as he underwent Tommy John surgery that August and became a free agent. After spending all of 2024 out of baseball, Hendriks was picked up by the Red Sox and made his debut with the team last month. Liam and Kristi Hendriks have been married since 2013, two years after he made his big-league debut.
