Fake tan faux pas! Celebrity hairdresser Joh Bailey turns heads for the wrong reason at star-studded Gold Dinner in Sydney

He's usually the one helping celebrities look red carpet ready. But Joh Bailey suffered an unfortunate beauty blunder of his own on Wednesday night. The Sydney-based hairdresser to the stars stepped out for the lavish Gold Dinner charity event with a noticeably mismatched fake tan, drawing unwanted attention for his patchy appearance. Bailey, who is known for styling Princess Diana, Zara Phillips, Elle Macpherson, Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, looked otherwise dapper in a classic black tuxedo, compete with velvet jacket, crisp white shirt, and bowtie. But all eyes were on his visibly bronzed face and starkly pale hands, creating a jarring contrast under the flashbulbs. While posing on the media wall with a glamorous female companion in a strapless black down and furry clutch, Joh's hands appeared several shades lighter than his deeply tanned complexion. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Despite the tanning slip-up, Joh appeared in high spirits as he mingled with Sydney's social elites. Bailey previously made headlines back in 2022 amid rumours of a three-way turf wall among celebrity hairstylists in Sydney's ritzy Double Bay. The celebrities were out in force at the exclusive event, with Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington also in attendance. The invite-only charity event dubbed Australia's answer to the Met Gala, raises funds for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation - and tickets cost an eye-watering $3500. For the first time, the Gold Dinner has been held at the Royal Botanic Gardens' Parade Ground Lawn, set amongst Sydney's most iconic landmarks and framed by the vibrant light spectacle of Vivid Sydney. With close proximity to Government House and iconic landmarks the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge - all being illuminated as part of the city's renowned festival of light - this year's event is themed 'Light Up a Child's Life'. It offers guests a symbolic and immersive experience that ties directly to its cause as it aims to raise $80million - the most ambitious target to date. Woman makes a mega beauty mistake before leaving her home all glammed up – but can you spot it before her look of panic?

SHE was ready to leave her home looking all glammed up to the max. But one woman was left horrified after realising she had suffered an epic beauty blunder - so can you spot it before her look of sheer panic? 3 Stylish fashionista Leah Fuld took to TikTok where she left social media users in stitches with the hilarious fail - and it's safe to say, most of us have been there at least once. With somewhere to go, Leah - who posts under the username @ fitsandfreakouts - decided to put on one of her best frocks and a pair of strappy heels. Once the hair had been styled and the make-up was on, Leah topped it all off with a shiny lip gloss, before doing a fit check online. All chuffed with the final ensemble, Leah slowly stepped away from the camera, as she was proudly modelling the gorgeous blue midi dress. However, as the fashionista was showing off the chic outfit, she quickly spotted that something was off - and it finally kicked in. While in the video Leah never revealed where she was meant to go, the fashionista called it a day and stayed home - as she realised she had only fake tanned one of her legs. Although at first, Leah later revealed in the comments, she thought ''it was the lighting'' that wasn't the case - and she was left with one bronzed leg that looked extra tanned next to the ''ghostly'' leg. ''It's me thinking I ate. Then realising I didn't,'' she chuckled. ''Literally roll the credits. I'm staying home,'' she wrote under the now-viral video which has been viewed an astronomical 2.9mllion times in just five days. Since being posted online, it's also racked up a whopping 154k likes, 442 comments, as well as 1,668 shares. This Morning pro reveals the best fake tans for a streak-free glow & all the mistakes to avoid 'This would have sent me over the edge' As hundreds flooded to comments to share their thoughts, a fellow beauty buff wrote: ''This would have sent me over the edge.'' I'm impressed with the results, but now my entire room stinks of the stuff. If you're on a budget and want a tan for last-minute plans, I would say this is one to try. " bBold Dream Mousse Tan in Dark - £9.50 - Buy Now Tester: Josie O'Brien, Senior Fabulous Digital Writer Review: "The first thing that hit me about this tan was the 'juicy watermelon' scent - it's delicious. I was left with a natural bronze hue rather than orange glow. My only qualm is that the tan seemed to stick to my dry patches and accentuated 'strawberry skin' on my legs. I'm still adding this tan to my arsenal though - the smell, colour and texture are dreamy." St Moriz Professional Medium Tanning Mousse - £4.99 - Buy Now Tester: Kate Kulniece, Fabulous Writer Review: "Not only does St. Moriz mousse leave you with a gorgeous bronzed glow, but it also smells fabulous - think Piña Colada on a sunny beach. At first, I was a little bit sceptical cause I'm a gradual fake tan girlie, but this quick developing St. Moriz number may change it all." ''Whatever plans I had would need to be cancelled,'' wrote one person. There were also some who suggested how to instantly fix the epic fake tan blunder. ''Sunscreen with bronzer and some glittery lotion on top,'' wrote a viewer. ''I've done this once, I just completely forgot to tan one of them below knee and also once forgot my knees + elbows, there was just a large white patch on all 4 of them,'' another commented.
