Trace Cyrus Claims Katy Perry Is Copying His Sister Miley's Career: ‘Didn't Work, Try Again'
Trace Cyrus believes that his sister Miley Cyrus' career has influenced fellow pop star Katy Perry. 'I first knew Katy Perry and her team were lame as f*** when her career was first dying,' Trace, 36, quipped in a Friday, April 18, Instagram video. 'And they were like, 'Hm, what can we do? Well, what worked for Miley? She cut her hair off and it broke the internet and everyone freaked out and she bleached it blonde. We should do that with you, Katy.'' Miley, 32, notably chopped her hair into a pixie cut ahead of the release of her Bangerz record in 2013. Perry, 40, for her part, went shorter and lighter in 2017. Trace didn't stop at apparent hair similarities, also theorizing about Miley's professional collaborations with Mike WiLL Made-It, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J that transitioned her to a music with a more 'hip hop' sound. He now thinks that Perry's music has a similar vibe. Trace Cyrus Reveals the Last Time He Saw Sister Miley Cyrus, Teases 'Big Things' Ahead for Her ''You're now going to do the same stuff that Miley did and blow up,'' Trace said on Friday, parodying a conversation between Perry and her team. 'Guess what? It didn't f***ing work — and then they just tried some EDM song or some s*** because EDM's hot. Didn't f***ing work, and now they're going to send your a** to space. Didn't f***ing work! It's not working. It's backfiring.' Trace also captioned his upload, 'Didn't work … try again 🎲.' Perry, who has not responded to Trace's accusations, returned from an 11-minute space excursion aboard Blue Origin's rocket earlier this week on the first all-women intergalactic flight. When Perry returned to Earth, she held up a daisy — in honor of her and fiancé Orlando Bloom's daughter's name — and kissed the ground. Every Star Who Has Criticized the Blue Origin Space Trip: Olivia Wilde, Emily Ratajkowski and More 'One day when you're older, will YOU still look up in wonder?' Perry, whose space adventure fulfilled long-held personal dreams of being an astronaut, wrote via Instagram. 'Still processing this incredible journey. Thank you @blueorigin and to my space sisters, taking up space AND making room in space for all. See you on tour (when I come down, figuratively).' Perry was joined by CBS Mornings host Gayle King, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and Jeff Bezos' fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, on the flight. During the experience, Perry even serenaded the crew with a rendition of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World.' 'It's not about singing my songs. It's about a collective energy in there. It's about us. It's about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging,' Perry said during a post-landing press conference, noting that she didn't want to belt one of her own hits. "And it's about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.' The space flight, said to serve as an inspiration for women around the world, also fueled online controversy as many prominent A-listers criticized the launch.

Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez Show Off 'Sexy' Space Suits
Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, and the other women in the Blue Origin crew are showing off their new spacesuits. Daily Mail labeled the spacesuits "sexy." That doesn't appear to be coincidence. "Let's reimagine the flight suit. Usually, you know, these suits are made for a man. Then they get tailored to fit a woman," Sanchez, the fiancee of billionaire Jeff Bezos, told The New York Times. "I think the suits are elegant, but they also bring a little spice to space," she told The Times. According to The Times, Sánchez "teamed up with Monse to redesign the Blue Origin flight suits with its all-female launch in mind." The women go to space on the morning of April 14, 2025. "Hard to believe that tomorrow this incredible work of innovation will be taking us above the Kármán line. Took a moment together as a crew to visit our rocket and express our gratitude. Thank you to the entire @blueorigin team for making this happen. 🙏🚀💙," Sanchez wrote on Instagram, sharing a video that shows the women in the spacesuits. The tight blue spacesuits open up to show a black tank-top-style garment. Sanchez posted another video showing the suits. King also posted a video to her Instagram page that showed the space suits. King wrote on Instagram, "I finally got to see the @blueorigin space suit for the very first time yesterday—things are getting real! Gotta hand it to @laurenwsanchez and @monsemaison who designed a suit that looks great on everyone! In the words of @katyperry: Functional, fashion and flare 🚀🚀🚀" Perry posted a similar photo, writing, "Happy International Day of Human Space Flight 🚀 Forever in awe of the Universe and it's alignment ✨"
