Miguel Uribe Turbay, a 39-year-old senator who aims to run for president as a candidate for the right-wing Centro Democrático party, was shot from behind by armed men at about 5 p.m. Saturday in the Fontibón neighborhood of Bogotá, according to a statement from his party.
