I Review Clothes for a Living, and These Are the Only 12 Amazon Basics You Need for Summer Trips—From $10

Looking stylish on all your summer trips—without overpacking—starts with well-chosen essentials. A strong summer capsule wardrobe doesn't require dozens of options, but a handful of versatile pieces like basic tank tops and flowy maxi skirts. Think lightweight layers and go-anywhere staples that make getting dressed on vacation (and at home) feel effortless. With the right basics, your suitcase stays light, and your outfits stay on point. I pulled together 12 Amazon basics that are easy to mix, match, and layer no matter where you're headed. The Anrabess Maxi Dress, for example, works just as well with the Rihero Leather Sandals and a sun hat for the beach as it does with New Balance sneakers and the Araz&Cloz Cropped Cardigan for a walking tour—or dressed up with heels for dinner. From wide-leg pants to comfy lounge sets, these are the only summer wardrobe staples you'll need. Prices start at just $10. It's what you reach for when you need something that works with everything, and this one from Amazon is flattering, soft, and ultra-versatile. Throw it on with linen pants and sandals for a relaxed sightseeing look; pair it with mom jeans and a cardigan for a museum morning; or layer it under a zip-up hoodie for your travel day outfit. At just $10, you'll wish you bought more than one of the 24 colors offered. If you're packing light, you'll want a black maxi dress that can go from casual café mornings to candlelit dinners. This one checks all the boxes: flattering square neckline, breezy skirt, and—yes—pockets. Wear it with sneakers and a denim jacket for exploring a new city; swap in espadrilles and chunky earrings for date night; or toss it on over your bikini and pair with a straw tote for a beach-to-brunch moment. A good pair of linen-blend pants is the travel gift that keeps on giving. This breezy pair is made with 40 percent linen and features a flattering drawstring waist for a custom fit. Pull them on over your swimsuit with a wide-brimmed hat and flip-flops for beach days, or style them with a cropped tank and platform sandals for rooftop drinks. Their wide-leg cut gives off that effortlessly cool, I-am-in-Italy energy. Packing just one pair of sandals? These are the ones. They're stylish enough to wear with a maxi dress to dinner, minimal enough to throw on with a cover-up for the pool, and comfy enough to stroll around all day. They also take up almost no room in a suitcase and somehow go with any outfit. This cropped cardigan is a layering hero. Ideal for unexpectedly chilly planes or over-air-conditioned restaurants, it also holds its own as an outfit finisher. Button it up and wear it as a top with wide-leg pants and toss it over a strappy maxi dress on breezy evenings. Or, pair it with matching neutrals to build a monochrome outfit. When it comes to summer travel, you need sneakers that won't ruin your outfit—or feet. Enter the New Balance 515 V3 Sneakers. These are lightweight, supportive, and have a neutral enough look to work with everything from leggings and an oversized sweatshirt at the airport to a dress and denim jacket while wandering through cobblestone streets. One traveler swore by them on a trip to Europe, saying 'we walked miles every day and I never got a blister.' Meet your new airport-to-coffee-run uniform: a soft sweater set with a sleeveless top and high-rise shorts that strikes the balance between cozy and pulled-together. Wear it with chunky sneakers and a belt bag for the plane, then swap in strappy sandals for brunch. Break up the set entirely by pairing the top with linen trousers or the shorts with a button-down for lounging by the pool. (I've got my eye on the yellow set.) This understated vest is the epitome of quiet luxury and one of the most versatile pieces you can pack. Between the breathable linen-blend fabric and elevated silhouette, it's just as at home with trousers and heels for a business-casual dinner as it is with denim shorts and slides for a day of exploring. Or, go full Euro summer by pairing it with a silky maxi skirt and gold accessories. If you want to feel effortlessly elegant, even while living out of a suitcase, this satin maxi skirt is sure to be your go-to. Style it in a low-key way with a white tee and sneakers, or with a cropped tank and strappy sandals for rooftop cocktails. Go bold with a matching satin top and gold hoops. It's one of those pieces that feels elevated with zero fuss—and works just as well in spring and fall. Tailored shorts are the summer version of power dressing. These are structured but soft; flattering, but unfussy. Tuck in a black tee, and add a belt with some slides for an effortlessly elevated outfit. Or, wear them with a button-down and sneakers for a more polished travel day 'fit. A reviewer even compared the fabric to Vuori's villa shorts, which are nearly double the price. You only need one great bag for travel, and this one delivers. The handwoven texture gives it a beachy, vacation-ready feel, while the compact size and multiple compartments will keep things organized. Wear it as a crossbody while airport-hopping; bring it along on a walking tour; or dress it up with a maxi dress and espadrilles for a nice dinner. It's neutral, functional, and stylish—the travel trifecta. Socks rarely get the spotlight they deserve, but these make a low-key accessory, leveling up any travel look. They add a sporty twist to chunky sneakers and biker shorts; give off a polished vibe with loafers and tailored shorts; and even pair surprisingly well with ballet flats. Fresh-looking white socks always make an outfit look more intentional. Love a great deal? Sign up for our T+L Recommends newsletter and we'll send you our favorite travel products each week.

We're Calling It: These Flowy Pants Are the Only Pair You'll Need for Travel—Here Are 10 Ways to Style Them

Part of building a solid capsule wardrobe for travel is having a trusty pair of trousers you can wear with practically everything. Amazon's fashion store is filled with a near-endless amount of options, but there's one pair in particular that stands out among the rest—and they're less. Feiersi's wide-leg pants are comfortable, stylish, and versatile; you can wear them as part of a casual outfit or dress them up for work and other semi-formal occasions. If you need some inspiration on how to make the most out of the pants on your trips, check out our 10 different ways to style the trousers below. These trousers have a flowy, wide-leg fit and structured look that can be dressed up or down. For an easy straight-off-the-plane outfit, pair them with a classic white T-shirt, comfy sneakers, and a baseball cap. They're so comfortable, one reviewer traded in their leggings for these pants for a flight to Europe. If you're planning a tropical vacation, you don't have to worry about the trousers feeling heavy. One shopper who wore them to the beach said they're lightweight. You can pair them with this ribbed tank top and sandals for an elevated look that won't leave you sweating. Add a crossbody bag so you can bring essentials, like your sunscreen, a camera, a portable charger, and a compact umbrella. These pants can also be dressed up, according to reviews, which makes them perfect for any business trip. Style the trousers with a blouse like this dreamy pink one, then finish the look with a comfy pair of ballet flats that'll keep your feet cushioned during work events. Because the pants have a relaxed fit, they're comfortable enough to walk through markets in, but also nice-looking enough to wear to the office. Pair them with this puffy-sleeved top when you need to travel for work. For accessories, grab this Travelon anti-theft crossbody bag that has protective features, like hidden pockets and slash-resistant materials to keep your passport and wallet safe. Even patterned tops, like this ruched floral tank, look good with these pants—they're that easy to style. Both pieces have soft materials you can lounge in, so you don't have to worry about feeling restricted on long plane, train, or car rides. These slip-on shoes have a mesh upper for a more breathable feel—add them to the outfit. And, you can rely on this puffy tote bag to hold your book, water bottle, portable charger, and other travel must-haves. Cruisegoers in particular may appreciate the travel pants paired with this sleeveless sweater to dress up for dinner. Add a black belt with gold touches to bring an extra layer of elegance, and these knit platform sandals for added height. When in doubt, you can always rely on basics like a white T-shirt and a denim jacket to create an effortlessly stylish travel outfit. Make sure to complete the look with a solid pair of walking shoes, so you can walk around for hours without worrying about blisters. Instead of wearing sweatpants for your next road trip, opt for these wide-leg pants. They have a stretchy back waistband that one reviewer said makes them even comfier. Add a flowy top like this lightweight option that'll have you looking put together when you make a pit stop for food. The trousers can even be part of a preppy look when you pair them with this polo T-shirt and contrasting belt. These Mary Jane shoes finish the look perfectly. They have cushioned memory foam insoles and a trendy style, so you can get some sightseeing in before dinner without needing to go back to the hotel to change your shoes. For a more athleisure look, pair the pants with a quarter-zip sweatshirt and walking sneakers. It'll provide comfort on the plane and still look put together enough for sightseeing. Plus, you can leave your oversized tote at the hotel and carry your phone, hotel keycard, and wallet in this compact fanny pack. Love a great deal? I'm a style editor - here's how I've curated the perfect summer capsule wardrobe from the high street

Each year, just before the start of summer, I get lots of friends asking advice on how to dress for the rising temperatures. What jackets can they wear with long dresses? Can they wear socks with sandals? Are strappy tops appropriate for work? Sartorially speaking, it appears summer in the UK is one of the hardest seasons for people to get their heads around. I've learnt that the easiest route to great summer styling is to keep it simple: don't overcomplicate things by having too many options or by buying things with fussy silhouettes or patterns. Instead, I gravitate towards a capsule wardrobe in summer months, which makes getting dressed in the mornings simple. A capsule wardrobe is a thoughtfully curated collection of flattering, versatile pieces that make getting dressed feel effortless. Instead of buying into statement trends that tend to date quickly, it's about embracing pieces that last and embracing a 'quality over quantity' mindset. When creating my everyday summer capsule wardrobe, I look for lighter fabrics in neutral colours that are comfortable and easy to mix and match. I also like to look for pieces that are well-made so that I can bring them out again year after year. Read on to see the essential pieces that you need to make a capsule wardrobe of your own. The linen dress Next dress £60 Shop As the weather gets warmer, I opt for lighter, natural materials that are breathable and help keep me cool. A midi style in a timeless neutral shade (like the Next dress above) is a great option. This style can be dressed up with heels and a clutch bag for an evening event, but also looks great with a light blazer for the office. The boxy tee H&M t-shirt £27.99 Shop A crisp boxy t-shirt is an absolute must for any capsule wardrobe. They match with all colours and look great with everything (from midi skirts to jeans and even under strappy dresses). For a chic look, avoid fitted or cropped styles, as well as outdated cap sleeves. The boyfriend shirt & Other Stories shirt £77 Shop The perfect layer for cooler summer days, an oversized poplin shirt always looks great. It also doubles up as a glam poolside coverup for any holidays you might have coming up. The updated flip flop sandal Mango sandals Thanks to luxury label The Row, thong sandals are currently having a resurgence. Of course, we're not talking about the thin-soled, plastic variety. This season, it's all about thick straps and luxe leather. These will take you from the office to the beach - and everywhere in-between. The straw bag Fatface bag £45 Shop When summer arrives, I rely on big bags within which I can carry around all my essentials. I can't go anywhere without suncream, an XL water bottle and sunnies, which all take up a lot of room. Instead of picking up a tired-looking tote, invest in a slouchy straw bag. Not only are they roomy, but they'll never go out of style. The waistcoat Tu waistcoat £26 Shop They look just as smart paired with matching suit trousers as they do with jeans. Look for waistcoat styles with a round neck and longline silhouette. The chunky earring Asos earrings No matter how neutral the rest of your outfit, a statement pair of chunky gold earrings always make an outfit look put together. These Asos earrings are lightweight (meaning they won't make your ears hurt) and are a steal at £8. The denim shorts John Lewis shorts £39 Shop Long denim jorts are all over the high street this season, and there's a reason why! They're much breezier than their longer-legged counterparts, yet are still appropriate to wear for everyday. Pair them with a crisp white shirt and leather mules and you could even get away with wearing them to more relaxed offices.
