Numerous charges laid at 'unsanctioned' 300-car meet-up in Cambridge, Ont.
Waterloo regional police say they have charged multiple people at a large car meet-up in Cambridge, Ont., for noise and other alleged violations. Police says approximately 200 cars were gathered in the area of Sheldon Drive and Conestoga Boulevard, blocking driveways, speeding and causing excessive noise. Police called the event an "unsanctioned car rally." Organizers say over 300 cars took part in the event and it was held on private property, with permission from the property owner. Police said the gathering took place at approximately 9 p.m. ET on Friday. Event organizers Most Wanted Customs, a vehicle customization shop, and Drift Culture, which makes car apparel, decals and accessories, say it was a family-friendly event, with ice cream, music, a variety of vendors and tattoo artists. Social media posts on Instagram showed several cars parked side by side in a long row at a car meet-up. Many of the cars were uniquely decorated or modified, showcasing custom car wraps. Hopes for a bigger event In a statement, a spokesperson for Most Wanted Customs, a vehicle customization shop, told CBC News the event was held to attract new customers and mark the start of the summer season — a popular time for people to seek out a new wrap or design for their cars. The spokesperson said the store had permission to host the event from the owner of the lot where the meet-up was held. Organizers said they hope to host another, bigger event before the end the year. When asked if they saw police at Friday's event, the spokesperson said officers were present throughout, passively observing the gathering. "We do not support any illegal street racing, or drifting or anything like that," the spokesperson said. Brad Hickey, a spokesperson for the Waterloo Regional Police Service, says they were responding to community concerns. "Throughout the evening, Waterloo Regional Police received numerous complaints regarding racing, speeding, blocked driveways and excessive noise," Hickey said in a statement to CBC. "Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind all motorists that while attending car events and enjoying your vehicle is lawful, dangerous driving and disruptive behaviour are not, and will be addressed accordingly." The Waterloo Regional Police Service says the numerous charges include: Two charges for unnecessary noise and one noise warning. Improper muffler charge and one warning. Three charges for driving a motor vehicle while failing to display plates. A charge for colour coating on windows obscuring interior. Two fail-to-surrender insurance card charges. A charge of failing to surrender a motor vehicle permit. A charge of driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit. A vehicle modified, fail to apply for a new permit charge. An obstruct plate charge.

Inside The Middle East's First-Ever All-Women Supercar Rally In Dubai
Photo: Instagram @arabiangazelles The Arabian Gazelles aren't just revving engines – they're rewriting the rules of the road. Earlier this month, 20 trailblazing women from around the world came together to launch the Middle East's first-ever all-women supercar rally. Spearheaded by the pioneering collective Arabian Gazelles, the four-day journey was more than a showcase of luxury cars, it was a bold statement of visibility, power, and progress. From the sweeping coastlines of Fujairah to the mountain peaks of Jebel Jais and the golden dunes of Abu Dhabi, the group tore through stereotypes as much as it did tarmac. This wasn't simply about cars; it was about reclaiming space in a world that has long excluded women from the fast lane. The message was loud and clear: the supercar world is no longer a boys' club. The Arabian Gazelles have taken the wheel, asserting that elegance, ambition, and horsepower are not mutually exclusive – and that women belong in motorsport not as outliers, but as leaders. Photo: Instagram @arabiangazelles At the helm of this movement is Hanan Mazouzi Sobati, founder of Arabian Gazelles – the world's first all-female supercar owners' club. What began eight years ago as a bold response to the gender imbalance in car culture has become a global sisterhood fuelled by grit and glamour. 'We're not just behind the wheel,' says Sobati. 'We're leading the change, one powerful mile at a time.' She recalls the early days, attending car events alone, often on behalf of her husband, who wasn't even a car enthusiast. Back then, brands were hesitant to back an all-female initiative. Today, those same names are proudly on board, aligned with a movement that's shifting gears in the region and beyond. The rally launched with an adrenaline-fuelled BMW M Series track session at Dubai Autodrome before heading east along Fujairah's glittering coastline. Day two brought the group to the UAE's highest peak, where they tackled the sharp switchbacks of Jebel Jais. From there, it was on to the dreamlike desert landscape of Qasr Al Sarab in Abu Dhabi before a final glittering celebration at Delano Dubai. 'This is a rally with soul,' said co-organiser Ghita Mejdi, founder of The Kliff Project. 'Every detail was curated to honour the women driving it – trailblazers, storytellers, icons.' From engineers and entrepreneurs to creatives and mothers, the women behind the wheel carried with them a powerful message: inclusion, visibility, and fearless leadership belong in every lane. topics: Middle East, Dubai, ABU DHABI, cars, RALLY, WOMEN, SUPERCAR

West Coast Customs' 'Deconstructed' Lamborghini Urus Is the ‘Otis' Maybach Reborn
@westcoastcustoms | Instagram The latest car news, reviews, and features. A lot's been said among car enthusiasts over whether the Urus SUV is a legitimate Lamborghini or not—the Audi Q8 switchgear, powertrain, and underpinnings do it absolutely no favors—but step outside the bubble of automotive nerds, and the car has become a bona fide status symbol. Among certain circles in Los Angeles, you aren't anybody unless you're rolling in a Urus (that may or may not be shared with, like, four other guys) and the car has been name-dropped frequently in hip hop—a surefire indicator for any car that, culturally, you've made it. The big Lambo's latest music video appearance may just be the coolest we've ever seen the Urus. Modified by West Coast Customs of Pimp My Ride fame is a 'deconstructed' Urus made to feature in Young Thug's video for the song 'Money on Money.' Doors were removed, the roof and hood were cut up, Mad Max -style fenders were added, and exhaust tips were extended very far and made to shoot flames. Forget the Performante, this is what a truly wild, weight-shaved Urus should look like. Rap fans of a certain age will recognize the whole bit as an homage to 2011's 'Otis' video in which Jay-Z and Kanye West did something very similar with a Maybach 57. Coincidentally, that very car was present at the West Coast Customs display at last year's LA Auto Show. My brain is broken, so whenever I hear the word 'deconstructed,' the only thing that comes to mind is a pretentious chef serving up separated components of a childhood classic and thinking they're really doing something. This Lambo, however, is deconstruction I can really get behind. Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot Got a tip or question for the author?
