I Love When Celebrities Are Stans!
Celebrity stan culture has gotten pretty out of control. If you love (or are completely obsessed with) a particular actor or singer, you can pretty much acquire merch of them in any and all forms—from candles to tees to skateboards. Our obsession with stars truly knows no bounds, with even A-listers queening out every now and then. Personally, I love seeing famous people fangirl over other famous people. (Yes, it happens.)
Take last week, when Olivia Rodrigo was spotted at the airport wearing not one but two pieces of celebrity merch. The singer not only wore a Winona hat (for Winona Ryder), but also proudly rocked a vintage Frank Sinatra tee. Her love for a moody Hollywood thespian and an Old Hollywood crooner? Fascinating.

Rodrigo is not the only celebrity who has outed herself as a stan. Recently, Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in a Twilight-themed dad cap—this just shortly before she attended the Cannes Film Festival alongside her Die, My Love co-star Robert Pattinson—the star of Twilight. (Do you think she ever professed her love for Edward Cullen to him, or kept that to herself?). Model Amelia Gray, meanwhile, wore a Balenciaga tee that serves as an homage to Kim Kardashian. (Someone is a fan of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.)
To take famous stan behavior further, some celebrities have even proudly wore their own merch. Just before Coachella this year, Justin Bieber emerged wearing his own concert tee. Why be self-critical, when you can be self-confident? Rihanna also pulled the same move back in 2016, when she wore a tee featuring an image of herself wearing a Hillary Clinton tee. (How meta of her.)
