Whoopi Goldberg clashes with her ‘View' colleagues on Elon Musk-Trump breakup: ‘It's fake!'

The View's Whoopi Goldberg pushed back against her fellow co-hosts relishing the very public and bitter breakup between Donald Trump and his former 'first buddy' Elon Musk, claiming on Monday that the meltdown between the pair was 'fake' and a 'distraction.' With the show taping Friday's broadcast on Thursday, Monday's program represented the first opportunity for the panel to weigh in on the increasingly fraught back-and-forth between the world's richest man and the leader of the free world, which has seen Trump recently insist that he has 'no intention' of speaking to the 'disrespectful' Musk. After airing clips of Republican lawmakers and Vice President JD Vance expressing disappointment over the split, which was precipitated by Musk's anger over the 'Big, Beautiful Bill,' the show also highlighted progressive Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gleefully reacting that 'the girls are fighting.' 'The fact that the big beautiful bromance is over was just very funny to me,' co-host Sunny Hostin declared, kicking off the discussion. She went on to note that both Musk and Trump were using the respective social media platforms that they owned to fire off personal attacks against each other. 'It was so messy and ridiculous and silly. And they say a woman is too emotional to run the country? Okay! Alright,' she added as the in-studio audience applauded. Alyssa Farah Griffin, the resident conservative panelist and a former Trump administration official turned Never Trumper, giggled at AOC's 'the girls are fighting' quote before saying she 'couldn't look away' as the feud ignited. At the same time, she tried to give some insight into what really rubbed Trump the wrong way. 'The tweet that hurt the most wasn't Elon Musk saying J.D. Vance should replace you and you should be impeached, it was him saying Donald Trump is a lame-duck, he's here for three and a half years, I'm here for 40 years,' she said. 'What he was signalling to Republicans on Capitol Hill was to be with me and be against this 'Big, Beautiful Bill,' which is Donald Trump's entire legislative agenda.' Ana Navarro, another Republican who has made a name for herself as a fierce Trump critic, also stated that she found the meltdown 'incredibly amazing and entertaining.' She then argued that the 'infantile tantrum between two really big babies' got so bad that the administration 'even brought back Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador' because they are 'so desperate to distract' the rest of the world. As the table began to debate who they thought would come out ahead in the squabble, Goldberg poured cold water on the conversation. 'I love that you all brought into it,' she flatly stated, adding that she does 'believe it's fake.' With a somewhat surprised Hostin asking her why she felt that this wasn't a genuine beef between the two powerful men, Goldberg asserted that the whole thing was just a way to divert the public's attention away from the president's other actions. 'It's too strategic. I just feel like, oh yeah, now suddenly everybody's upset about stuff. I'm sorry, no. This is another distraction to keep us talking not about the stuff we're talking about, but the stuff they want us to,' she exclaimed. 'I'm not buying it. I don't buy it, because they love to lie all day,' Goldberg continued before turning her attention to Abrego Garcia, who was finally returned to the United States after the Department of Justice filed federal criminal smuggling charges against him. 'They brought a man back, they brought a man back, at first, look at his hands, we got these gang signs,' she concluded. 'Now he's been running people out of the country. He's been, you know, trafficking people. It's like, okay, what else, bring me more. Because I don't believe anything they say anymore. They have shown themselves not to be the most trustworthy people.'

The REAL reason behind Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson's split as it's revealed its been 'incredibly painful' for the actress after pair go their separate ways

Dakota Johnson has been left feeling 'incredible pain' amid her split from Chris Martin as the pair called time on their relationship after eight years together. The actress, 35, and Coldplay frontman, 48, first sparked up a relationship in 2017 and got engaged several years ago - but on Wednesday it was revealed they have gone their separate ways. And now the real reason for their split has been revealed after their careers pulled them in different directions. A source told The Sun: 'Dakota wanted this relationship to work. She not only loves Chris, but his two kids, and that loss feels incredibly painful. The decision to end things was amicable, but Dakota is finding it hard. 'Over the past year, it became clear that their relationship had stalled and wasn't moving forwards.' The REAL reason behind Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson's split is revealed and it's reportedly been 'incredibly painful' for the actress as the pair go their separate ways after eight years While they admitted having children together didn't look to be on the cards, their careers had also been getting in the way of the pair settling down together. Chris has been on tour with his band for three years and is constantly swept up in a hectic schedule. They added: 'Settling down, as in Chris properly taking his foot off the pedal, isn't going to happen. And, ultimately, it was one of the many straws that broke the back of them.' MailOnline have contacted Chris and Dakota's representatives for comment. MailOnline revealed the couple's split on Wednesday after a source said: 'Their relationship has been over for a long time, they just haven't been able to figure out to make it official. 'Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much. 'Breakups aren't instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they'd get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren't right for each other anymore. 'Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them.' The source added there is a chance the pair may reconcile but 'right now, being separated will do wonders if they were to have any type of future together.' A sombre Dakota was last pictured in NYC on Wednesday hours before the split news broke, and without her engagement ring. She also stepped out on Sunday with Chris'ex Jennifer Lawrence. DailyMail first reported trouble between the pair in August 2024 but a rep later confirmed they were still together. The pair had a brief rumored split in 2019 which was alleged to be over Martin pushing for them to have children, but they quickly got back together. Chris famously split from actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow, the mother of his two children Apple, 21, and Moses, 19, in March 2014 after ten years of marriage. The then-Hollywood power couple described their separation at the time as a 'conscious uncoupling' and had their divorce finalized in July 2016. Chris was reported to be in an on-and-off relationship with actress Annabelle Wallis before they split in August 2017. He was first seen with Dakota at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles in October 2017 when they were reported to be 'cozy, laughing and affectionate'. Dakota, the daughter of Don Johnson, 75, and Melanie Griffith, 68, was spotted a month later at a Coldplay concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, leading to fans posing social media pictures of her enjoying the show. The couple were seen out on more dates around Los Angeles in early 2018. But it was nearly a year later that they made their first openly public appearance together at Stella McCartney's Autumn 2018 Collection show in LA. Dakota's father, Don, appeared to confirm his daughter's relationship with Martin in an interview with Digital Spy when he joked: "Yeah, that's... uh troubling, isn't it? No, she's a big girl, she can handle herself!' Her actress mother also opened up about Martin during a Global Gift Foundation USA Women's Empowerment Luncheon, when she said: 'I adore him!' Dakota appeared to confirm her relationship with Martin in an interview with Tatler in September 2018 when she said: 'I'm not going to talk about it, but I am very happy.' The following November, she is said to have met Paltrow, her new husband Brad Falchuk, and Martin's children at a Thanksgiving dinner A source told PEOPLE at the time: 'They're a total modern family and had a great time celebrating together.' The couple were spotted again with Paltrow and Falchuk on the beach in the Hamptons, New York, in August 2019. Paltrow opened up about her ex-husband's relationship with Dakota in a 2020 interview with Harper's Bazaar, describing how the actress had become part of her family. She said: 'I love her. I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her.' Dakota gushed over Chris' children in a 2024 interview, saying: 'I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.'

Trump v Musk has get very messy very quickly, and TV's punchline writers will be the only winners

And so, in the end, it was the big, beautiful bill that prompted the big, beautiful bust up almost everyone knew was coming. Ever since the Trump and Musk alliance was formed almost a year ago, megalomaniac watchers the world over have been asking when and how it would end. Now we have our answer; 137 days into Trump's presidency and with the fire powered ferocity of one of Musk's rocket launches. At times, it felt voyeuristic to watch, the kind of rubbernecking that takes place with the ugliest of celebrity breakups. It's a Brangelina inside the beltway, but with implications far beyond it. Because Musk was as close to the president as anyone outside his own family. He spent weekends living at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, his mum attended parties there, his son wiped his bogies on the resolute desk. But like so many domestic disputes, it got very messy, very quickly. 2:56 As always when Trump has something to say, he waits for the inevitable question. It came immediately after his meeting inside the Oval Office with German Chancellor Freidrich Merz. A journalist asked about Musk's criticism of his "big, beautiful" bill. Trump saw his opening. "I've always liked Elon. I'd rather have him criticise me than the bill," he said, quickly noting that he and Musk had a great relationship. "I don't know if we will anymore," he added. Less than half an hour later, a post on X by Musk made it very apparent that they would, indeed, no longer have a great relationship. "Without me, Trump would have lost the election," he wrote. It was a torpedo that unleashed an, at times, unhinged back and forth including an unfounded allegation from Musk about Trump being part of the "Epstein files." Just a week after Trump presented Musk with a golden key in a grand farewell, Musk was burning the house down. But this break up will affect everyone involved, not to mention the American public. Brand Trump will be damaged by the loss of Musk's endorsement and loyalty. 5:17 Republican politicians will be wary of angering Musk by voting for Trump's spending bill. The world's richest man has shown he is willing to put his money on the line in election races and the midterms are looming. The government's reliance on Musk's companies is also huge. Space X is the key player in space exploration and Musk has been providing invaluable advice to the White House on artificial intelligence and electric vehicles. What will now happen to the Department of Government efficiency? Meanwhile shares are down significantly at all of Musk's companies with Trump likely to seek vengeance. There could also be an investigation, now, into allegations that Musk's drug use while in government was out of control. There are so many unknowns and one certainty - there are no winners here, apart from the comedians who trade in jokes about this pair of impulsive billionaires.

Beckham family drama deepens as Romeo splits from girlfriend Kim Turnbull

Romeo Beckham and girlfriend Kim Turnbull have split up after just seven months together. The pair's romance 'fizzled out' shortly after Romeo's dad David's star-studded 50th birthday party last month. A friend of the pair told the Mail: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. 'It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them.' The Sun has contacted representatives for Kim and Romeo. Kim, 26, is said to be at the heart of the Beckham family feud in which eldest child Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz, 30, have become estranged. Brooklyn previously dated Kim as a teenager and was reportedly unhappy she was on the guestlist for David's birthday celebrations. However, the insider insists that the feud has had no bearing on their decision to call it a day. Kim and Romeo went public in November, 20 months after his split from Mia Reagan, his ex of five years. While Kim was previously linked to Rocco Ritchie, the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, who is one of Becks' closest pals. The Beckhams are yet to speak publicly about their family row, but there have been digs thrown around on social media. Tellingly, Brooklyn publicly wished Nicola's brother a happy birthday just days ago, not long after snubbing his dad's milestone entirely. He has also added a floral tattoo to his chest, swamping the 'mama's boy' tribute to his mum Victoria that previously took pride of place. While Romeo's romance has ended, Brooklyn and Nicola's appears stronger than ever as they band together. In a love-struck confession, Brooklyn, 26, said he knew she was 'the one' after just three months of dating. He opened up to Glamour on his early plans to pop the question to the Lola actor, who he married in Miami three years ago. In a rare joint interview with his wife, Brooklyn said: 'I knew after three months that I wanted to marry her. 'But because of Covid, I wanted to wait until our families could be there.' The chef and photographer failed to mention his parents, David and Victoria, by name amid their feud which has seen claims Brooklyn has now hired Prince Harry's lawyers to solve the bitter dispute. Brooklyn continued to detail his proposal plans to Glamour's Germany edition and added: 'A few hours before, I had a golf cart accident and needed stitches in my hand. 'My thumb was completely bandaged – I couldn't even open the wine!' During the chat, he was quick to gush over his spouse and their almost-instant connection. He said: 'When I first saw Nicola at Coachella, I was immediately captivated – by her beauty, her warmth, her charisma. 'Even though it was only a fleeting moment, it stayed with me for a long time.' He then added: 'You have to marry your best friend, someone you feel at home with. For me, Nicola is exactly that.'

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson SPLIT after eight years together leaving actress ‘devastated'

COLDPLAY'S Chris Martin and his actress fiancée Dakota Johnson have split up after eight years together. Rumours about their relationship had been swirling for months and it has now been confirmed Dakota, 35, and Chris, 48, have gone their separate ways. 2 A source told the Mail: "Their relationship has been over for a long time, they just haven't been able to figure out to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much." The source said they tried the age old technique of spending time away from each other but the absences didn't lead to their hearts growing fonder. "Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them," the insider continued. The pair were pictured holding hands in January at the Babulnath Temple, Mumbai, where Coldplay were touring. It followed Dakota, who is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, working on new romance movie Materialist with co-stars Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal in New York. Chris famously split from actress wife Gwyneth in March 2014 after ten years of marriage. He reportedly got engaged to Dakota last March and she called his kids with Gwyneth, 51, her "step-children". Chris is dad to daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17. The Fifty Shades of Grey star declared that she loves Chris's kids "like her life depends on it." She said: 'I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart. "How do I feel about motherhood? I'm so open to that. "I've gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer. 'And especially being a woman, I'm like: 'What a magical f***ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience. "If that's meant to happen for me, I'm totally down for it. "We're not here for very long, so if I'm meant to be a mother, bring it on." Dakota also has the seal of approval from Gwyneth, who attended her 30th birthday party. She said about Chris and Dakota: "I love her. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. "But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. "I always start to think of the —what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? "There's so much juice in leaning in to something like that. "It's not like there's a finish line: 'Oh, we consciously uncoupled; we're done.' "It's a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together. "I don't see a reason to do it if you don't have children together. Some people do. "But I think we put all the hard work in at the beginning. I would say very rarely is it difficult now. "We've learned how to communicate with each other. We love each other. We laugh. "We have the best of each other. It's really nice. It makes you feel like you don't have to lose."
