Laceyville man sentenced for child porn

BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Bradford County District Attorney says a Laceyville man was sentenced to two years in prison for possession of child porn. On Friday, Bradford County District Attorney Richard Wilson said 19-year-old Blake Andrew of Laceyville was sentenced to prison for almost two years with probation on possession of child porn charges. Wearing orange in remembrance of gun violence survivors Court documents say Manning was charged with the offense in October 2024, after an investigation by Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) uncovered pictures of two 14-year-old girls on Manning's cellphone. Manning will also be monitored under the Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act, the Keystone State's version of Megan's Law, for 15 years. This requires Manning to regularly report to PSP as part of his sentence, officials explained. Manning is housed at the Bradford County Correctional Facility. If he violates his sentencing conditions, authorities say his supervision could be revoked and he could be resentenced to harsher sanctions, including State Prison. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. France used ‘terror' and ‘child porn' to mask political agenda

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has doubled down on his claims that France's foreign intelligence agency pressured him to censor conservative voices on his platform, dismissing their purported law enforcement concerns as a 'manipulation tactic.' On Sunday, Durov accused the head of the Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE), Nicolas Lerner, of asking him to take down Romanian Telegram channels ahead of the country's presidential runoff. The DGSE rejected the allegations of political interference, insisting that it had contacted Durov on multiple occasions only to 'firmly remind him of his company's responsibilities, and his own personally, in preventing terrorist and child pornography threats.' 'French foreign intelligence confirmed they met with me – allegedly to fight terrorism and child porn. In reality, child porn was never even mentioned. They did want IPs of terror suspects in France, but their main focus was always geopolitics: Romania, Moldova, Ukraine,' Durov said in a post on X on Monday. The Russian entrepreneur argued that Telegram has long combated child abuse through 'content fingerprint bans, dedicated moderation teams, NGO hotlines, and daily transparency reports on banned content.' 'Falsely implying Telegram did nothing to remove child porn is a manipulation tactic,' he added, insisting that Telegram's extensive moderation efforts have been 'verifiable' since at least 2018. Durov, whose company is headquartered in Dubai, was arrested in France last August and charged with complicity in crimes allegedly carried out by Telegram users, including extremism and child abuse. He was released on €5 million ($5.46 million) bail and dismissed the charges as baseless. He was eventually permitted to leave France in March after assuring the court that Telegram had increased cooperation with the authorities worldwide. In September 2024, the encrypted messaging service updated its privacy policy to allow the collection of metadata – such as IP addresses, device information, and username changes – for up to one year. According to the policy, this data may be shared with the 'relevant judicial authorities' if a user is suspected of engaging in illicit activity. Late last year, Telegram channels belonging to major Russian news outlets were rendered inaccessible across the EU. Durov criticized the move, claiming the bloc imposes more censorship and media restrictions than Russia. The latest controversy emerged as Romania held a runoff presidential election. The vote followed a Constitutional Court ruling that overturned the initial results after right-wing independent candidate Calin Georgescu unexpectedly won the first round. The case was cited by US Vice President J.D. Vance during a speech in Munich in February as an example of EU governments undermining democratic norms.

Escambia County firefighter arrested on 38 charges for crimes against children: FDLE

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An Escambia County firefighter has been arrested for crimes he allegedly committed against children, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Northwest Florida man arrested, charged with multiple counts of child porn possession An FDLE news release said 48-year-old Garey Anthony Buscaino was arrested on seven counts of video voyeurism of a child under 16 years of age, 30 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. According to officials, the investigation into Buscaino began in April after they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip given to agents was that a cellphone user had been uploading child sexual exploitation files to a cloud account, according to the release. Investigators were able to determine that Buscaino was the owner of the account and that he had hidden video cameras that were secretly recording a child 'in stages of undress.' A search warrant was executed on May 15 at two homes where officials said they seized multiple devices. 'A preliminary forensic review located several voyeurism videos and hundreds of files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 4 years old,' read the release. Hamilton man, ‘unusually immature for his age', jailed after child exploitation bust

By Belinda Feek, Open Justice reporter of ] Jordan Te Iri-Kearns appeared in the Hamilton District Court earlier this week for sentencing. Photo: RNZ / Cole Eastham-Farrelly A 23-year-old man with a "fetish for child porn" was caught "red-handed" with more than 100 objectionable videos and images of children as young as one year old. Jordan Te Iri-Kearns has now been jailed after he was caught exchanging child exploitation videos with other people on Messenger and Telegram in 2023. The court heard that when police raided his Hamilton home they discovered 113 videos and images on his devices. Of those, 75 were videos and most were classified as Category A, the most serious kind, as they involve penetration of children or animals. The material listed involved children between the ages of one and 12 years old. When questioned by police, Te Iri-Kearns admitted he had a "fetish with child porn". When Te Iri-Kearns appeared in the Hamilton District Court earlier this week for sentencing his lawyer asked for home detention. However, Judge Tini Clark was concerned that Jordan Te Iri-Kearns had been assessed as someone who would go on to reoffend. "Not just in terms of watching something but actually doing something," she told Te Iri-Kearns' counsel, Scott McKenna, before reaching her decision. McKenna said he did not disagree, but the "absolute priority" should be to focus on doing something to "stop the conduct". He said the offending was not at a level that required a prison sentence and said his client presented as someone who was "unusually immature for his age". In arguing for home detention, McKenna acknowledged there had been multiple police callouts to the property but assured the judge that it would be suitable. If the judge felt it was not, he asked that she adjourn proceedings so another house, possibly an apartment by himself, could be sought. But Judge Clark said the reality was that the property was the only option at this stage. The judge accepted he was genuinely remorseful and had been transparent with police about his behaviour. She also questioned the full discount for a guilty plea, given he was caught "red-handed" with the offending material. In deciding whether to send him to prison or allow home detention, Judge Clark said the offending was not simply about the numbers or amount of videos and images. "But the need to look more carefully at the nature of the publications," she said. "There's a distinction between the possession of videos and the possession of still images. "Simply looking at the volume ... will not necessarily accurately confirm an offender's culpability." Te Iri-Kearns had been "extremely forthcoming" with a report writer, admitting that he had "a porn addiction and has a high sex drive". She accepted that while he had only distributed videos three times, they were to three different people, yet the purpose of the exchange was so that he could receive more videos. McKenna had asked the judge to take a starting point of three years and six months' jail, while police had suggested five and a half years. Judge Clark took four years and three months and agreed to allow a 25 percent discount for his guilty plea, 5 percent for remorse, and a 20 percent for his background factors. That left 25 and a half months for which Te Iri-Kearns was jailed. * This story originally appeared in the New Zealand Herald .
