Florals have had bad press in recent years. Once a reliable go-to for the fashion loyalist seeking to inject a little colour into their lives, blooming prints suddenly felt dowdy, out of date and, frankly, a bit naff. All that looks set to change, provided you wear your florals in the right way this summer, as prints that take their lead from horticulture find their way back into the playbook of the superstylish.
Moody and anything but twee, the florals of 2025 have an edge. Instead of featuring on floaty dresses these lurid interpretations of pansies, daisies and winding wisteria come on side-skimming trousers, blouson shorts and slouchy dresses that should be worn oversized alongside chunky shoes and an unkempt hair do.
