Gone are the days where I'm happy to squeeze myself into tight pencil skirts in the summer, or worry about constantly shaving and fake tanning my legs for shorts. When warm weather hits now, what I'm after is a pair of comfy, flattering, lightweight trousers; the type that hit the summer brief while requiring very little effort on my part. And happily I have found them. Enter, H&M's wide pull-on trousers, which the retailer brings back every year because they are simply brilliant. I first bought a pair of these trousers last spring, when I was on maternity leave and needed practical clothes that didn't make me feel like I'd lost my sense of style along with my sleep and hairline. I chose a pair with black and white stripes, and was immediately impressed by them. Firstly, they don't really need ironing, which is an absolute winner when you're ridiculously busy. Secondly, the loose-leg shape is very flattering, cinching in at the waist and then falling to the floor in a way that disguised everything else that was going on for me post-pregnancy.
