Bizarre moment Queen Camilla meets people dressed as bushes
The Queen was 'ambushed' by two people dressed as bushes during a visit to Canary Wharf. The Eden Project and Canary Wharf Group have partnered to transform Middle Dock into 'Eden Dock', a biodiverse space to host community events. Camilla attended a Big Lunch on Wednesday to celebrate the new venture and was welcomed by two people dressed as bushes. Cracking a smile, Queen Camilla asked if they could see out of the costume and quipped they were 'wonderful'. Camilla went on to meet a group of children, aged six, from the local Mulberry Wood Wharf primary school who helped decorate the bunting for the event and showed the Queen some of their drawings.

New community dog park opening in less than a month
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — Almost a year ago, Happy Tails Animal rescue purchased a piece of land on Eerie Canal and Wheeler with plans to build a community dog park. With just a month to go, the new park is nearly finished. 'I think we bought fencing back in October and now it's June. And we're really excited. I'm excited to meet more of the community through the dog park,' Co-owner Taylor Bullock said. Co-owner Taylor Bullock said the dog park will consist of fencing, draining, agility activities, a pavilion, and seating. The rescue also plans to host community events like cook outs and movie nights in the future. Improved Vincennes Animal Shelter 'I have two event coordinators and myself. We constantly are thinking about ideas on how to get the public involved. Kind of just going outside the box to bring people together that really love dogs,' Bullock said. What makes this dog park different from others in Vigo County is safety being the number one priority. The park will be regulated by volunteers during park hours. You must show proof of vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and your dog must be spayed or neutered to receive a dog park pass. 'We know that there are a couple dog parks in the community, but we wanted to do one specifically catered towards animals who are spayed and neutered. That way they can have a place to come and know that all the dogs there are going to be safe,' Co-owner Aaron Childress said. 'Requiring vaccinations in itself like things against like parvo, that's very deadly. You know they have a like a canine flu that's very deadly,' Bullock said. Looking ahead owners of the rescue hope to build a rescue facility on the property in the near future. But for right now, the owners operate everything out of their home. 'Anytime that we have events, or meetings, or anything it's always at our house and it's not ideal. This will be nice to have people out here to be able to do events here and to bring people here when we do have meetings and things like that. It's just a much better environment than our backyard,' Childress said. The dog park will be having it's grand opening on June 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be food trucks, vendors, and music to celebrate the new addition to Vigo County. 'It's just something for you can bring your kids, bring your pets. You don't even have to bring pets if you just want to come check it out and say hi. Just kind of see what it's all about,' Bullock said. For more information on how to get a park pass or volunteer, you can visit their website. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Will you click on this story? Do Hong Kong tarot readers hold the answer?
Amid the hustle and bustle of a prime Hong Kong shopping district, there is a small alley where Ceci Yeung sits and quietly shuffles her deck of tarot cards, offering answers to questions both great and small to anyone who walks past her booth. For two days a week, Yeung performs tarot readings at the Window and Alley, a 46 sq ft space in Causeway Bay that is commonly used for community events and as a spot for local vendors to sell artwork and other goods. Among her clientele, many of whom are in their twenties and thirties, relationship questions are always the most popular. But this year has seen a growing number of people seeking answers to existential dilemmas, she said. 'In an earlier stage of my career, romance was the most-asked question, like whether they should get back together, or questions about cheating,' Yeung said. 'But this year, people feel more helpless than usual because of huge societal changes. They feel insecure about their current situation. Maybe they feel they might become redundant at work or are replaceable by artificial intelligence.

Markham community workers banned from chapel
A couple who run community events claim they were told they are "going to hell" and were stopped from using a chapel because they are not Christians. For the last three years, Salvaged Creations Wales (SCW) have been running youth clubs, playdays, woodworking classes, and other sessions at a chapel in Markham, now Layton Jones and partner Gemma Baker, who run the community interest company, say they've been told to leave the Markham Congregational Chapel, because they're deemed "a non-Christian organisation".The couple say the decision to evict them was made by the Reverend Nick Holloway. Mr Holloway has been asked to comment. The couple said they were shocked at the "unfair" decision, which they believe was taken without consulting the chapel's Jones said there had been no issues until earlier this year, when Mr Holloway, who took up his post two years ago, informed the couple indirectly via email that they would be leaving the the couple tried to arrange a meeting with him to discuss the reasons, Mr Jones claims the reverend launched into an "angry" first being told it was due to a contractual issue, the couple said Mr Holloway told them he did not want them there as they are a "non-Christian based group"."Gemma tried to talk to him, and he just shouted in her face 'you're going to hell'," Mr Jones couple, who are unmarried, told him the work of Salvaged Creations Wales was nevertheless valued in the community, and that "all our values are Christian-based"."He was having none of it," said Mr Jones."He was very angry towards us, [saying] 'my decision is final, I will not be changing my decision, you're out'." Mr Jones and Ms Baker claim the decision appears to have been taken unilaterally by Mr Holloway, without a vote of the the reasoning, claims Mr Jones, could potentially breach equality laws and the chapel's own policies on discrimination."Whatever religion (or not) we are, we are entitled to use the premises of Markham Congregational Chapel," said SCW in a post on their Facebook page."Many chapels are used for a variety of groups, AA groups, mother and toddler, youth & scouts or brownies for example." The not-for-profit organisation is now faced with finding new premises, something the couple says they can ill afford."Due to the changes forced upon us, we are now in a position of financial hardship, much more than what we already were," the post Jones and Ms Baker said that they had tried to appeal to the Congregational Federation, but that the chapel itself is ultimately its own entity."We are aware of the situation at Markham," said the Congregational Federation's trust and property manager, Kate Bass, in comments made to the Caerphilly Observer."While the church is affiliated, all governance and decisions lie solely with the individual church membership, as is the foundation of congregationalism."We hope a resolution on the matter can be reached for all concerned.".
