Legendary singer Joni Mitchell, who released hits such as "Help Me" and "Both Sides Now," is putting together a new project. The 81-year-old artist is releasing a compilation album that will contain over 60 songs.
According to People on June 25, Joni's Jazz will debut in September. The collection will contain 61 tracks across four CDs and eight vinyl albums. The compilation has a focus on "jazz's profound influence on her music," and includes songs performed with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, Jaco Pastorius, and Wayne Shorter.
Mitchell previously teased the idea of her jazz compilation, and now it is available for pre-order. It includes "studio recordings, live performances, rare alternative takes, and material drawn from multiple decades and record labels," People noted.
In the announcement posted to her Instagram page, it was noted that Mitchell hand-selected all of the tracks included on the upcoming release. The caption also let fans know this was "a passion project years in the making" that was "dedicated to her greatest jazz collaborators."
The release features songs spanning Mitchell's full career and includes some previously unreleased demos in addition to some live recordings.
The collection will be available both in vinyl records and CDs, both of which will include liner notes filled with Mitchell's original artwork and photos. The collection is available to pre-order to stream via Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music as well.
Fans of Mitchell's were thrilled to learn of the upcoming release.

On Mitchell's Instagram page, another fan gushed, "Wowwwwwwww this is wildddd. 💫🖤🔥🔥"
