‘NYT Mini' Crossword Hints For Sunday. June 1: Clues And Answers For Today's Game

Answers for today's NYT Mini Crossword are just ahead. Before we get to today's NYT Mini crossword hints, clues and answers, here are Saturday's: Wondering what island is home to Waimea Canyon (a.k.a. the Grand Canyon of Hawaii)? Not sure what action figure may have been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame? Don't worry, because I'm here to help you with extra hints and the answers for today's NYT Mini crossword. The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays. Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you'll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives. Here are extra hints and the official NYT Mini Crossword clues and answers for Sunday, June 1: Spoilers lie ahead, so remember to scroll slowly: 1 Across: A parasite's home 5 Across: The fourth-largest of the Hawaiian islands 6 Across: An electronic request for regular payment 7 Across: 'He'll fight for freedom! Wherever there's trouble' 8 Across: ____ Laurel, Oliver Hardy's comedy partner 1 Down: An long item of clothing worn by monks and nuns 2 Down: A board with an alphabet and yes/no responses that's a horror movie staple 3 Down: Hair care location 4 Down: A Bluetooth tracker for your belongings that is not an AirTag 5 Down: Where to stand at frat parties 1 Across: Late-night show V.I.P. – HOST 5 Across: Island that's home to Waimea Canyon, a.k.a. the Grand Canyon of Hawaii KAUAI 6 Across: Online notice to pay utilities – E-BILL 7 Across: Action figure inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame – G.I. JOE 8 Across: Suffix with Kazakh and Kyrgyz – STAN 1 Down: Repeated activity – HABIT 2 Down: Spiritualist's board – OUIJA 3 Down: Business with stylists – SALON 4 Down: Material for much signage in the N.Y.C. subway system – TILE 5 Down: Big beer barrels – KEGS Completed New York Times Mini crossword for Sunday, June 1. It took me 1:20 to complete today's NYT Mini. I can't say I'm overjoyed with that time for a 5x5 grid, to be honest! I got HOST and STAN on my first pass, but initially thought 6 Across was "email" (who calls it an E-BILL anymore? It's just a bill!). HABIT made it clear that my email hunch was incorrect and I was able to amend that. It was just a case of filling out the blanks from then on. It just took me longer than I would have liked. The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword. I missed RHINO (I wouldn't have gotten that one) and KARMA on my first pass of the Across clues. I slipped up with PRE-K, which I thought was 'pre-s' (for pre-school), but I filled in the rest of the Down answers with no problem. I must have good KARMA, because I was able to spot my mistake and correct it pretty quickly. See you tomorrow for more NYT Mini fun!
