Driver suspended since 2008 caught on Hwy. 417 in Ottawa

A driver stopped for a tinted licence plate cover on Highway 417 in Ottawa has been suspended from driving for 17 years, according to police.
Ontario Provincial Police say an officer stopped a driver for a tinted licence plate cover on Friday.
'Sometimes, stopping a car for a simple violation like a tinted plate cover can have an unexpected result,' OPP Const. Michael Fathi said on X.
'The driver turned out to be a suspended driver since 2008.'
The driver faces a minimum $2,000 fine for driving under suspension and a $110 fine for the illegal plate cover, according to Fathi.
