Aussie cops accused of 'George Floyd moment' after late night arrest on video leaves a man in a coma on life support
A father-of-two who was tackled to the ground and allegedly kneed in the neck by police remains in a critical condition with suspected brain damage. Police allegedly witnessed an altercation between Gaurav Kundi, 42, and his partner Amritpal Kaur in Adelaide 's eastern suburbs early Thursday. According to authorities, Mr Kundi allegedly 'violently resisted' arrest before he became unresponsive while on the ground. Footage filmed by his partner showed Mr Kundi screaming as several officers tried to detain him against a police car. 'I've done nothing wrong,' he shouted. His frantic partner added: 'Yeah, he hasn't done anything, what the hell!' The footage appeared to show police forcing Mr Kundi to the ground. 'Oh my God! They are doing unfair!' Ms Kaur screamed. Ms Kaur alleged an officer put a knee into his neck after she stopped filming due to being in a state of panic. Mr Kundi was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition, where he remains on life support. His partner claims the incident would have been avoided had police asked what had happened. 'They needed to ask first what we were doing,' Ms Kaur told Daily Mail Australia on Sunday night. '(The police) can't do this sh*t with someone's life.' Ms Kaur said that her partner spent the evening drinking before leaving their home. She followed him and offered assistance while trying to convince him to come home. Mr Kundi tried to push away her away, telling her he could walk himself. It's understood a passing patrol car mistook the incident for 'domestic violence'. 'I keep saying (to the police) he's not well, he's not well, please don't do this, just call the ambulance,' Ms Kaur said. She claimed she tried to warn police about Mr Kundi's pre-existing health conditions. 'His health is not very good and is heart is not working,' Ms Kaur told Nine News. Doctors can't guarantee that he will wake up from his coma 'His brain is damaged because the policeman hit very badly on the road. On the car, his head. And his neck nerve,' Ms Kaur said. 'Maybe he will wake up if brain works or maybe he will not.' 'I am just sitting over there and praying to God. Nothing else I can do. Nothing else I can do.' No charges have been laid. South Australian Police has launched an internal investigation into the incident as inquiries continue. Authorities will examine 'all evidence', including body-worn footage. SA Acting Assistant Commissioner John DeCandia previously stated he was satisfied officers had acted appropriately. 'I can say that from that evidence I've looked at, from that body-worn video, but it is only one portion, I'm comfortable, but that is only one police officer,' he told reporters on Friday. SA Premier Peter Malinauskas also backed police.

'Nude artist' Dina Broadhurst slashes price of her luxury Sydney apartment by a whopping $3.1 million in attempt to lure buyers
Dina Broadhurst has dramatically slashed the listing price of her dazzling pad in Sydney 's eastern suburbs by $3.1 million. The nude model and social media star had originally taken the sprawling Darling Point home to market for a whopping $11.5million. And now in a move that appears to be an attempt to lure buyers the three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is going to auction next month with a price guide of $8.4million. The beauty, 48, who owns the prized home with her former boyfriend Max Shepherd, made headlines in January when the former couple pulled the listing. The exes, who parted in 2023, sent tongues wagging when they reunited to sunbathe at Kutti Beach, where Dina went topless, while working together to find a buyer for the property. Originally purchasing the home together in 2022 for $5.2million, Dina renovated the harbourside property into a luxury home studio. Dina told Daily Mail Australia exclusively in January that she made the move to yank the listing because she was not sure she wanted to part with it. 'The property has been pulled for a few months as I am considering retaining the property for myself,' she said. 'I'm doing a trial living here over the summer until I work out if I will keep it or buy overseas next year instead.' 'The property has had ample interest and a decision will be made shortly as to whether we proceed with the sale or not,' she added. Dina pulled the newly-renovated pad from the market just two months after it was listed, and one month before it was set to go to auction. At the time there insiders were predicting that the $11.5million price tag could fall. In November the Wentworth Courier reported that Dina's renovation on the property took two years and involved a complete interior demolition. Dina showed off the garden apartments highlights in a video she shared to Instagram as the pad was listed. Located a mere 3kms from the CBD, the property features stunning views of nearby Double Bay. Highlights include vast living spaces, soaring ceilings and a thoughtful open plan design that opens out to a private garden. There's also a gourmet marble kitchen, oak floors and vintage Murano wall lights. Other highlights include a sunken wine wall, entertainment area, cocktail bar and a gas fireplace. It comes after Dina was recently pictured stepping out in a very revealing activewear set - and a very surprising car. Last week the socialite was seen attending a Pilates class at Body by Berner, which is owned by her best friend Bernadette Fahey, for a workout session. However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out the vehicle that she arrived in, which was a humble a Mazda3 circa 2015. The car is a far cry from the glitz and glamour one may associate with Dina, who tops headlines with her international travels, designer-laden ensembles and attendance at swanky upper-class parties. The Mazda model, which won the 'top safety pick' award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), retails between $10,000 and $15,000. Many were left questioning the socialite's choice of wheels. 'Thought she was Mazda,' wrote one.

Why Sydney families are choosing apartment living over houses
Demand for apartments has surged as many families choose units over houses - for more reason than one. While the affordability factor has pushed many to look at the apartment market, many families are embracing the convenience, amenity and easy lifestyle apartment living brings with it. Small business owner and mum of two Liliana Rubiano has lived in an apartment for 11 years, and even as her family has grown she has no desire to move into a house. 'If you gave me the option to buy a house in the eastern suburbs, I would rather buy a small modern apartment than a house,' she said. 'At the beginning it was just my husband and I in a 42 sqm apartment. Homeowners hoping for $40m windfall 'We rented there until we bought the same size apartment in the same building and we lived there with my little one,' she said. The family of three lived in the small one bedroom apartment until Ms Rubiano had her second child, which they then upgraded by renting a two-bedroom apartment less than 80 sqm. 'I love living here, I have implemented this lifestyle of minimalism, whenever I get something I get rid of something, I donate or give it to someone else that needs it,' adding it was easier to clean and maintain the smaller space too. 'I remember one of my friends said you can't be minimilast with kids, but I've found it so much easier.' Their apartment complex also has a pool and spa that they used regularly to entertain the kids as well as conveniently located playgrounds and parks as well as a 20 minute drive to the beach. She also used the storage in the basement of their apartment to store stock for her small beachwear business 'Tolu,' saving the family money on a warehouse or separate storage unit. 'I look after my kids 24/7 so it's great because I receive the orders we go downstairs, pack the orders and walk down the street to dispatch them,' she said. The only negative was the high strata fees on the unit they owned and expensive rent. 'It is expensive, but for me with the convenience and amenities, it is worth it,' she said. Developers are taking note, at Willoughby Grounds, a new family-focused apartment development on Sydney's lower north shore with a dedicated playground and spacious four-bedroom layouts to cater to families who can no longer afford freestanding homes in the area. Ray White agent Tim Abbott says many of the larger apartments are being snapped up by young families eager to stay in well-connected suburbs without sacrificing space or lifestyle. Adam Reeves director of sales and marketing at First Quadrant Properties said 'the inclusion of larger residences and shared green spaces made the homes an attractive option for families who want the best of both worlds – more space and an outstanding location.' The first buildings in Willoughby Grounds will be complete in mid-2025.
