Huge US band revealed they've been forced to cancel their UK and European shows after a 'freak accident'

Kings of Leon have been forced to cancelled their UK and European shows after frontman Caleb Followill suffered a 'freak accident'. The beloved rock band had been due to perform across a string of countries this summer, including shows in Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Belgium and Portugal. But Caleb, 43, was unable to perform in the tour after he broke his foot while playing with his kids, leaving him requiring emergency surgery, forcing the band to cancel all of their planned performances in June and July. In a video posted to the band's Instagram account, Caleb said: 'Hello to everyone out there, especially our European fans that are coming to see us this summer. 'Unfortunately I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be cancelled due to a freak accident that happened the other day.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I broke my foot pretty bad just playing with my kids… It's pretty gnarly and I'll spare all the details. 'But we're fortunate enough to have some great doctors here in Nashville that gave me emergency surgery.' Caleb, who shares two children with model Lily Aldridge, went onto reveal he's been told he has to stay off his feet for around two months. He continued: 'I'm on the mend, but they've told me that I can't be on my feet, travelling, or anything for the next eight weeks or so. That's a big bummer.' The singer looked visibly frustrated as he continued: 'We were so excited. We've been preparing for this tour for a long time, we've been preparing for a lot of things. 'We've been in the studio recording, we have a bunch of new songs, we were going to debut a few of them on this run. 'We had a lot of exciting things planned and now we're going to have to pivot and find a new way to continue the work that we've started.' But despite news of the cancellation, Kaleb ended his video on a more optimistic note, saying: 'I'm very excited for when we do get to show you the stuff we're doing, and in the meantime we're going to do whatever work we can while I have these limitations.' 'Exciting stuff is coming, I know this isn't the message anyone wants to hear, and it's certainly not the message I want to be sending, but it's going to be alright. Everything is going to be good. Hopefully, we will see y'all soon.' Kaleb's bandmates then released a separate statement where they echoed Kaleb's recovery time following the injury. They said: 'Kings of Leon are updating fans that Caleb Followill has recently sustained a serious injury, shattering his heel and requiring a significant emergency surgery, that will prevent him from travelling and performing. 'The anticipated recovery process is expected to take eight weeks, under strict guidance of expert orthopaedic specialists.' 'The band regrets to report that they will need to cancel all upcoming UK and European festival headline shows in June and July of this year.' The tour had been set to include a headline slot at Lytham Festival in Lancashire, where the band were billed alongside Justin Timberlake and Alanis Morissette. Festival organisers have since confirmed that the festival will be reduced from five days to four, as it's too late to book a replacement act. Last year Kings Of Leon revealed they were set to release new music after signing a deal with Capitol Records. The band - which formed in 1999 - is composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. To amp up the excitement for the forthcoming album, the foursome released a new single - and accompanying music video - titled Mustang. Kings Of Leon's entire discography beginning with 2003 debut EP Holy Roller Novocaine was released on RCA Records. They had released eight studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums, two video album, five extended plays, 26 singles, one promotional single and 26 music videos with the record label.

Harry Potter star rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after experiencing breathing difficulties

Bulgarian actor Stanislav Yanevski, known for his role as Viktor Krum in the Harry Potter film series, was recently rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to treat his 'inability to breathe.' The 40-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Friday, alongside a hospital selfie taken right after he had come out of the surgical room. Yanevski, who celebrated his birthday on May 16, wrote that 'soon after my birthday I was hospitalised due to inability to breathe.' 'I was taken into surgery and the photo was taken right after I had come out of the surgical room,' he explained. 'As always and those who know me closer, I went through this in silence as I didn't want to scare or worry anybody. I've always been this way. I fight through struggles in quiet. Of course I had support from the few I had told and my family for which I'm very thankful.' He added that he is still recovering, but that 'things are looking great.' 'I will be able to breathe freely, experience all scents of life, which was something I had lost over the past months,' Yanevski shared. 'I will be able to sleep without struggles, recover properly with peaceful sleep and be at my full powers very soon. I still have a few pieces planted in my nose, so I'm not able to talk freely, so please have some patience with Cameo — I stopped it, so I'm not available for bookings until I can talk properly again.' He added: 'I had a checkup with my doctor today and he said that I'm recovering really well and was actually quite surprised with my progress. I guess all the healthy diets, training and self control and belief help in such cases.' Thanking his fans for all the 'love and support,' he signed off: 'Much love from me to you all and have a wonderful and majestic weekend ahead. Yours truly, Stan.' Yanevski portrayed Quidditch star Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), the fourth movie in the popular wizarding film series based on J.K. Rowling's best-selling books. Krum was introduced as the seeker for the Bulgarian national team, who arrived at Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament. With his strong build, he instantly became a heartthrob at Hogwarts, trailed constantly by adoring classmates. However, it was studious Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), with whom he took an interest. The two attended the Yule Ball together, causing tension between Hermione and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), who had unresolved feelings for each other. Following his debut screen role in Harry Potter, Yanevski went on to appear in Eli Roth's 2007 horror Hostel: Part II and the 2014 war thriller Resistance. He also featured in 11 episodes of the five-season Bulgarian action series Pod prikritie. His latest screen credit is the 2021 action thriller Last Man Down, in which he played Dr. Feltspat. In recent years, Yanevski has spent his time documenting his life on YouTube and creating personalized videos for fans on Cameo.
