New summer barbecue series in north Norfolk countryside
A north Norfolk farmhouse restaurant is launching a series of themed summer barbecue events. Nest Farmhouse, located in the North Norfolk countryside, has announced the launch of its 'Pondside Sessions', which will be taking place by the pond every weekend throughout the summer. The events are set to bring a variety of food and drinks each weekend in partnership with two local drinks producers. The list of producers includes Malt Coast, Barsham, Duration, Brancaster Drinks, Burn Valley, WhataHoot, and Cobble Hill. The first session, scheduled for July 25 to 26, will feature the popular British smash burger, offering a choice of classic or spicy options. The following weekend, August 1 to 2, will see a traditional smoky pit barbecue inspired by the American South, with dry rubbed, smoked beef brisket in crispy ciabatta, and sticky pork ribs. On the weekend of August 8 to 9, attendees can enjoy smoky jerk chicken wraps. The fourth weekend, August 15 to 16, will focus on hot dogs, offering both classic and chilli dog options. Over 89,000 visitors to Al Jabal Al Akhdar in 1st half of 2025
Al Jabal Al Akhdar: The number of visitors to the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate from January to the end of June 2025 reached 89,780, compared to 84,869 visitors during the same period in 2024, marking an increase of 5.8%, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information. This rise in visitors during the first half of 2025 is attributed to the organisation of several events in the Wilaya, such as the "Spring of the Mountain" event, which coincided with the rose harvest season. This is one of the most prominent annual events that contributed to attracting visitors and tourists from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman. The events, organized in collaboration between the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate Office, the Department of Heritage and Tourism, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in the governorate, helped boost tourism and introduce visitors to the value of Omani roses, their associated agricultural practices and traditional industries, as well as highlighting the cultural and natural heritage of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Other notable events, such as the "Rumana" event, also played a role. Statistics revealed that the number of Omani visitors to Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the first half of 2025 reached 26,605, while visitors from GCC countries exceeded 6,000. The data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information also showed that the number of visitors from other Arab nationalities reached 4,998, while foreign nationals accounted for the largest share of visitors at 51,710. It is worth noting that Al Jabal Al Akhdar is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Sultanate of Oman, known for its moderate summer climate. The availability of numerous hotel facilities, rest houses, and tourist lodges, along with the hosting of various events, has contributed to attracting tourists. Al Jabal Al Akhdar is also considered one of the most important destinations for ecotourism and adventure tourism. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as hiking through valleys, exploring caves, and mountain climbing, which also provide opportunities to experience the local culture in the Wilaya villages, further enhancing its appeal as a comprehensive tourist destination.

Your daily horoscope: July 19, 2025
You may be affectionate by nature but you can sometimes be too eager when it comes to forming new relationships. The message of your birthday chart is that you don't need to go looking for love – because the right partner will come looking for you. Someone you have feelings for is clearly determined to follow a course of action you know will end in tears but you won't dissuade them so don't waste your breath. Sometimes the only way to learn is the hard way, so let them get on with it. There is no point making a radical change in your own life when so many things are changing in the world around you. Sometimes the sensible course of action is to wait to see how events unfold and then react to your own advantage. You need to stop rushing around trying to respond to 10 different things at once and focus on a single aim instead. Between now and the sun's change of signs next Tuesday you will do best by restricting your actions, not expanding them. You may be tempted to quit what you are working on and start something new, and that may be a wise course of action, but don't change your focus just yet. What occurs next week will give you a more profitable range of options to choose from. Common sense should tell you that if an offer sounds too good to be true it most likely is, but common sense seems to be in short supply at the moment. Put off making a decision until after the sun moves into your sign early next week. If you are having doubts about a friendship or relationship you are strongly advised to keep those doubts to yourself for the time being. Maybe you are right, maybe it is time to call it a day, but you don't need to make that call yet. What you want and what you get over the next 48 hours will be two entirely different things, but later on you will be glad that your No. 1 wish wasn't granted, not least because an enforced change of focus leads to a wonderful new friendship. Your future is extremely bright, so why do you look so worried? Make it your one and only aim this weekend to build on the progress you have made over the past four weeks or so. Your talents have not gone unnoticed and will be rewarded. Try not to get dispirited about events over which you have no control. By the time the sun moves in your favuor again early next week the worries you feel now will have disappeared – and you can, if you wish, get over them right now. If what occurs this weekend is not to your liking then it is up to you to seize control of the situation and change the narrative. If you do nothing because you want a peaceful life then that peace will be shattered in a matter of days. The more others say you need to change your ways this weekend the more you will dig in your heels and refuse to budge. Your focus and self-belief are of course admirable but on this occasion it might pay you to be a little less stubborn. Someone you meet while out and about in the world will make a good impression on you this weekend but don't get too close to them because the planets indicate they will be on their way again soon. Just enjoy the friendship for what it is. Discover more about yourself at

Tinley Park opens Harmony Square, new downtown plaza with concert venue, ice rink, rooftop bar
Thousands rocked out in Tinley Park Friday night as the village opened Harmony Square, a brand new multi-use plaza. Harmony Square is the result of 10 years of planning. Construction on the $38 million venue started a year ago. The plaza officially opened on Friday, and will be home to various events year-round in downtown Tinley Park. "It's going to be all year round, 250 days a year. In the winter, we're going to be have an ice rink," Mayor Michael Glotz said. "I'm really excited about Harmony Square and what Tinley has to offer; just the fun, the folks, the community in itself," visitor Samuel Thomas said. Harmony Square is equipped with a rooftop bar and Studio 67, a venue for private parties. Most events will be free at the plaza. Other events throughout the summer and fall this year will include yoga, kids' performances, movie nights, and seasonal light shows. In the winter, it will have an ice skating rink and curling lanes.
