Skip Bayless goes scorched on Steelers for signing ‘blame-deflecting diva' Aaron Rodgers in spicy rant

Skip Bayless reappeared on social media to blast the Pittsburgh Steelers for what he views as another bad decision at quarterback. The former ESPN and Fox Sports personality labeled Rodgers a 'washed-up, 41-year-old, finger-pointing, blame-deflecting diva' in a five-plus-minute rant he posted to X. Bayless was stunned the Steelers 'actually did it' by signing Rodgers, adding that he believes the ex-Jets signal caller is going to 'steal from the Steelers.' 'He was washed his last three years in Green Bay,' Bayless said. 'Go look at the numbers of his last three playoff games in Green Bay … I told the Jets he was washed.' Rodgers has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Steelers, who are basically all-in for the 2025 season after trading for star receiver DK Metcalf and with T.J. Watt entering the final year of his contract. 'What has become of the Pittsburgh Steelers?' he continued. 'I don't hate them anymore, I pity them.' Bayless referenced Rodgers' poor playoff stats, although he hasn't played in the playoffs since 2021. His last postseason contest game in a 13-10 home loss with Green Bay to the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round, when Rodgers went 20-of-29 with 225 yards and zero touchdowns. Skip Bayless goes scorched earth on Aaron Rodgers. X, @RealSkipBayless Rodgers last secured a playoff win in 2020 over the Rams (23-of-36, 295 yards, two touchdowns) but followed that victory by losing to the eventual champion Buccaneers (33-of-48, 346 yards, three touchdowns, one interception) at home in the NFC Championship game. Bayless claimed the Steelers are better off with Mason Rudolph at quarterback and 'starting to look like the odds-on favorite to be the first pick in the draft next year.' Aaron Rodgers signed with the Steelers on Thursday. Corey Sipkin for the NY POST 'At least got a name, but he ain't got any game,' Bayless concluded. Rodgers had an uneven season as the Jets' signal caller in 17 games last season, throwing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He played just four snaps in his first Jets season before suffering a torn Achilles tendon.

‘The biggest reasons' why Jeff Ulbrich didn't quit after Shedeur Sanders prank fiasco

Jeff Ulbrich's son, Jax, may have marred Shedeur Sanders' draft weekend, but the ex-Jets interim head coach never worried he wouldn't make it to Week 1 with the Falcons because of those actions. 'In all honesty, I never went there, but I felt nothing but support from the organization in every single way — from the people that worked the line in the cafeteria to (owner Arthur Blank) himself, all of them,' Ulbrich said Wednesday, per ESPN. 'I felt great support from him. It was one of the biggest reasons, in all honesty, that I came back here, because of the organization and what I think of this building.' 5 Jeff Ulbrich speaking with reporters Wednesday. @AtlantaFalcons/YouTube Ulbrich, the new Falcons defensive coordinator, became embroiled in a national controversy after Jax participated in a prank call to Sanders during last month's NFL draft. Jax secretly snatched Sanders' number from an open iPad at his parents' home and sat alongside a friend who called him, tricking Sanders into believing he had received the call he had been waiting his whole life for before the friend informed Sanders he would 'have to wait a little longer.' 5 Jax Ulbrich (l) during the prank call. @DingusMcDinkle_/X Jeff received a $100,000 fine for his son's actions, while the Falcons were handed a $250,000 fine. He called both his and his son's action 'inexcusable.' 5 Shedeur Sanders being pranked. @jayden77x/X 'First of all, I would like to publicly apologize to Shedeur and the Sanders family for what occurred,' Jeff said in April. 'Second of all, I want to publicly apologize to Mr. Blank, Terry Fontenot, Raheem Morris and the entire Falcons organization. My actions — my actions — of not protecting confidential data were inexcusable. My son's actions were absolutely inexcusable, and for that, we are both deeply sorry. 'The NFL has taken action and I fully respect the punishment. We take full responsibility, both my son and myself, and we will not be appealing the fine in any way. Going forward, I promise my son and I will work hard to demonstrate that we are better than this. Again, I am deeply sorry for our actions.' 5 Jeff Ulbrich during his time leading the Jets. Bill Kostroun/New York Post Jax also apologized on Instagram. 'On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake,' the college student wrote. 'Shedeur, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I'm so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish. I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed with that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.' 5 Jeff Ulbrich during January 2025. AP Jeff joined the Falcons after an underwhelming run as the Jets' interim head coach in the wake of Robert Saleh's firing, going 3-9. He previously served as Atlanta's defensive coordinator in 2020 before joining Saleh with the Jets to serve in the same capacity.

Elijah Moore signing one-year deal worth up to $5 million with Bills

Elijah Moore has a new job. The ex-Jets wide receiver is headed to upstate New York after agreeing to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Bills on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. 'Back in that red and blue Time to go be GREAT. Grateful for the opportunity! Cant wait to meet BILLS MAFIA,' Moore posted on X. Cleveland receiver Elijah Moore, who also played for the Jets, warms up before the Browns' road loss to the Broncos on Dec. 2, 2024. Getty Images Moore, 25, had a career-high 61 catches for 538 yards with a touchdown for the 3-14 Browns last season, his second in Cleveland. The Ole Miss product spent the first two seasons of his NFL career with the Jets after the franchise drafted him in the second round of the 2021 draft. Moore's two-year stint with Gang Green was a turbulent one. During his sophomore season in 2022, Moore requested a trade from the Jets shortly after a bizarre social media posting spree amid a tough two-game stretch. After the season, the Jets sent Moore to the Browns along with their third-round pick in exchange for Cleveland's second-round pick in the 2023 draft. Elijah Moore runs upfield during a Jets' game on Dec. 18, 2022 at MetLife Stadium. Corey Sipkin for the NY POST The Bills' latest move comes just days after Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane lost it on WGR 550 Buffalo SportsRadio hosts Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase for suggesting the team should have addressed the wide receiver position earlier in last week's draft. 'I was just listening to the last few minutes of your show waiting to come on and it sounds like 2018 all over with you guys,' Beane said. 'You guys were bitching in 2018 about Josh Allen, you guys wanted Josh Rosen, and now you guys are bitching that we don't have a receiver.' Moore joins Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel and Joshua Palmer in a crowded Bills wide receiver room with no star No. 1 pass-catcher.

Shedeur Sanders prank call rocks NFL draft as perpetrator apologises for ‘dumb' decision

Jax Ulbrich, the son of Falcons defensive co-ordinator and ex-Jets coach, Jeff Ulbrich, has apologised for prank calling Shedeur Sanders during the 2025 NFL Draft, revealing himself to be the person behind the mysterious situation. Sanders, along with several other prospects, received prank calls while they waited to be selected by an NFL team, with the call being captured on a live stream and then going viral. The Falcons have also confirmed that Jax, 21, had been responsible for the phone call and said that he had been able to get Sanders' number 'off an open iPad while visiting his parents' home and wrote the number down to later conduct a prank call.' The team denied that Jeff had any knowledge of what had happened and had only found out after it had occurred, the New York Post reports. The NFL had said it was investigating how Sanders' phone had received the prank call and it was later reported that several other prospects had received crank calls during this year's draft, including Colts first-round pick Tyler Warren. Jax Ulbrich released a statement on social media on Sunday, apologising for his actions. 'On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake,' the statement read. 'Sheduer, what | did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I'm so sorry | took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish. I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed with that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.' The Falcons denounced his actions as well and issued their own apology to Sanders and his family. 'The Atlanta Falcons do not condone this behaviour and send our sincere apologies to Shedeur Sanders and his family, who we have been in contact with to apologise to, as well as facilitate an apology directly from Jax to the Sanders family,' the team said. 'We have also been in contact with the NFL and will continue to co-operate fully with any inquiries we may receive from the NFL league office. We are thoroughly reviewing all protocols, and updating if necessary, to help prevent an incident like this from happening again.' All of it came to light largely because Sanders had been live-streaming during the second night of the draft and it was captured as it happened, and went viral on social media. The person pretended to be Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, seemingly setting up that Sanders was about to be drafted by New Orleans. 'It's been a long wait, man,' the person said. 'We're going to take you with our next pick, man, but you're going to have to wait a little bit longer, man. Sorry about that.' For his part, Sanders told reporters that the prank call didn't impact him. 'You've seen on Deion [Sanders] Jr.'s YouTube video. My reaction to it, I don't — it is what it is. I think of course it is childish. Of course, I feel like it was a childish act, but everybody does childish things here and there,' he said.
