What to do if you're locked out of Facebook or Instagram
If you have lost access to your Facebook or Instagram account because you've forgotten your password or have been hacked, here is everything you need to know. What to do if you can't access your Facebook account There are a number of ways to regain access to a Facebook account (Image: PA) Here is what users can do if they lose access to their Facebook account. Forgotten Password According to The Guardian's Lost of Stolen series, users with access to the phone number or email address associated with their account can try resetting their password. This can be done by clicking on the "Forgot Password" link on the main Facebook page. Lost Access to Phone Number or Email Address Those who have forgotten their password and no longer have access to their phone number or email address should find the device they previously used to log in with. Users should then click on and enter the phone number, username or email address they believe was used for the account. From here, they can click on 'No longer have access to these?', 'Forgotten account?' or 'Recover' before following the instructions to prove their identity and reset their password. Hacked Account Those who have been hacked should visit on an account they were previously logged into and follow the instructions here. What to do if you are locked out of your Instagram account Here is what users who have been locked out of their Instagram accounts should do to regain access. Forgotten Password Instagram tells users who have forgotten their password to select "Forgotten Password?" before entering their email address, phone number or username. Once this has been done, they can then click on "Send Login Link" and follow the on-screen instructions.
