Impaired driving, false report of stolen vehicle leads to charges: WPS

A woman is facing charges after she struck a parked vehicle while driving impaired, then falsely reported her vehicle as stolen, according to the Windsor Police Service (WPS).
The incident happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of Brodhead Street and Howard Avenue.
After police located the SUV, they said they found scattered opened bottles of alcohol.
Through their investigation, they learned the complainant was driving the motor vehicle at the time of the crash, and she falsely reported the theft to police.
Officers spotted her attempting to flee the scene, and arrested her after a brief struggle, police say.
