Terminally ill dad recording stories for his kids to listen to once he's gone
A TERMINALLY ill dad given months to live is recording bedtime stories for his children to listen to once he is gone. Lee Rawlinson, 51, was given the diagnosis of untreatable pancreatic cancer in October. He has spent the time since making memories with wife Faye and their daughter Darcey, ten, and son Marley, seven. He is now working with charities Stories For Life and Havens Hospices to continue that even after he has died. Stories for Life supports the hospice, who provide specialist support and care for the families of those living with incurable conditions, in offering the opportunity to record messages and stories for loved ones - preserving their voices for when they're no longer here. Mr Rawlinson has recorded several stories for his children, including his animated rendition of The Wonky Donkey - a family favourite designed to make Darcey and Marley smile and laugh. Ex-medical rep Lee, of Leigh on Sea, Essex, said: 'I always read to the children before bed. "Now, they'll always be able to hear that in my voice. 'It's reassuring for me knowing it will be a comfort for my children, even though there may be tears. "If Marley thinks Daddy's in the clouds and he can still hear my voice — that's amazing.' 1 Terminally ill dad, Lee Rawlinson, given months to live is recording bedtime stories for his children to listen to once he is gone Credit: SWNS 'I fear leaving my children,' says heartbroken dad facing last Christmas after ignoring stomach ache

Father breaks down in tears as his son who lives abroad surprises him with adorable trick
A Brazilian father was left sobbing when his son, who lives abroad, surprised him on his return home. The heartwarming moment was caught on camera as the son pretended to call his father on Facetime from afar - while he was actually in the same room. As the elderly father looked into his phone and saw his son's face, he greeted him with a smile while the son waved back. However he appeared to have no idea that the person on the end of the phone was actually standing right behind him. The pair exchanged words and waves before the son eventually moved the phone to put his father in the frame - but it still took time for the father to realise his son was in the same room. Eventually the penny dropped - making for an emotional reunion as the visibly moved father stood up, turned around and warmly embraced his son before breaking down in tears. The emotional clip, which was shared on TikTok account @ has gained 7.5 million views and has left viewers in pieces at the reunion. The wholesome clip was also shared on Reddit with over one thousand people rushing to the comments to gush over the beautiful bond between the pair. One person wrote: 'Wish I had someone love me as much as that father loves his son.' Another said: 'This makes me miss my dad, he's passed and yes fortunate to have had a good one.' Someone else wrote: 'That is a real man. Real men are open and honest towards people they care deeply about.' A fourth added: 'Best prank ever. The payoff was worth the confusion. Now let me cut my onions in peace.' The emotional clip brought some to tears, while others reflected on their own relationships with their parents. One person said: 'As someone who's never had involved parents and moved out at 15 with limited contact since, this video was a rush of emotions for me. 'The amount of love between that father and son is absolutely beautiful and my heart aches for such a connection. Beautiful <3' Another said: 'This made me reach out to my dad. We haven't talked in a month or so.' Someone else added: 'It's been 23 years since by dad passed (when my daughter was just a few weeks old, he only saw her twice in his life...) and it's STILL rough with posts like this. 'Some thing are just irreplaceable and that's life but jeez.' It comes after another heartwarming video showed the moment a father was reunited with his children as he returned home after spending four months abroad in 2021. Dean, 42, works in the RAF as a flight sergeant and recently returned to his home in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, after being stationed outside the UK since April. His wife Kerry, 39, wanted to surprise their three children - Amelia, 14, Sydney, ten, and Sam, eight - and kept Dean's arrival a secret. Kerry told their children that they were taking a picture to send to Dean and had them make a sign for saying 'Welcome home daddy'. The trio were left speechless when their dad walked from behind them, before the family embraced in an emotional group hug. In the video filmed by Kerry, her three children posed with a banner reading 'Welcome Home Daddy.' She told them they were rehearsing for Dean's homecoming, but the children were oblivious to the fact that he was already back and ready to suprise them. As the children said how excited they were to see their father, the RAF sergeant quietly walked out of the house, watching his kids with their mother. He slowly started to walk up to his family as his children, unaware, kept talking to their mother. Finally, Sydney and Sam turned around and realised the man they had all been waiting for had come home early. A stunned Amelia put her hand on her mouth as she looks at her mother. The family fell silent, and the three children rushed to embrace Dean, while Kerry kept filming. Kerry, a catering assistant, explained: 'He's been in the RAF for 23 years - I always said I'd never go out with a military man but a mutual friend set us up on a blind date and we were married a year later. 'They had no idea he was coming back and that was the first time I had seen him as well. 'We hadn't seen him since the beginning of April and it is really difficult. 'The kids often get upset when he's not there and for the first few weeks, they tend to play up in the bedroom because they want him to tuck them in, but you get into a routine after a while. 'I filmed the video with my mum and we had been planning it with Dean for a few weeks. 'I told the kids that we needed to take some pictures with the banner in front of the house as a present for their dad. 'Having him come home meant a lot to them - it's been a tough couple of years. 'After we finished filming the video, it was like he had never been away and all cuddled up on the sofa together watching TV. 'The kids went to bed and it was the best they had gone in the last four months.'

Nicola Peltz talks about 'core family memories' amid birthday snub
shared an emotional post about 'core family memories' after missing her father-in-law David Beckham 's 50th birthday party. The actress, 30, Victoria and David's eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, share an Instagram post about losing both of her grandmas and spoke about reflecting on time with them. Nicola was close to her grandmothers Bunny and Gina, whom she posted about on Sunday after all the Beckham celebrations. Bunny passed away in May 2024 at the age of 95, while Gina passed away in January 2020. Nicola wrote in the caption: 'In life, we have core memories and this is one of my most favorite days I've ever lived. 'They were my best friends, there wasn't a day I wasn't with them. To my naunni and my gina I can't fathom the thought of not being able to hug you or hear your laugh right now - I just miss you both so much. 'The farther I get from the day you left earth scares me because I feel like I get farther from you. I remember this day so clearly, I got us all matching Dior fancy sneakers and I was so proud to match you both this whole summer. 'The Kentucky derby is today and I will never forget watching it on TV with you both every year. I love you both more than anything and think of you every second. I hope you're together right now looking after me and I hope I see you soon. 'To my forever soulmates I more than love you because the word love doesn't touch how you have made me feel growing up. I felt more than loved and that is what I feel for you both, more than love.' Victoria wrote in the caption: 'Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all ❤️ @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven xx.' While each of her three youngest children were tagged in the caption of the social media photo album, she skipped Brooklyn despite usually writing something along the lines of 'missing you @brooklynbeckham' on previous occasions. previously revealed that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola had skipped all of the events hosted by the family to celebrate the ex-soccer star's milestone birthday, leaving his parents heartbroken. A source said: 'David is heartbroken but putting a brave face on it. Tonight is all about celebration and love, and he is swimming in it. 'Brooklyn actually informed his parents a while ago that he and his wife, Nicola, would not be attending but, of course, David and Victoria desperately hoped he would change his mind.' A source said last month: 'Both have very much been invited as much-loved members the family. But you never know, Brooklyn and Nicola will do what they want to do.' Another friend added: 'It would absolutely destroy David if any fall-outs carry on and become big deals. 'It would be the best birthday present ever for David to have all of his children and their partners happily having a wonderful time together. That's what really puts a smile on his face.' It comes amid reports Brooklyn and Nicola pulled out of attending the Met Gala with the intention of attending his father David's 50th birthday bash. A source told The Sun that Brooklyn was planning to attending David's 50th birthday party, but felt too uncomfortable to come because he felt that Nicola was being blamed for a rift with his family. An insider has claimed: 'They canceled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David's party on Saturday. 'But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola. 'She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive - she's a loyal wife.'
