Woman dies, 2 sons hurt in car-lorry crash

PETALING JAYA : A woman was killed while her two sons were injured when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a 10-tonne lorry at Felda Chiku 3 in Gua Musang, Kelantan, today.
Gua Musang fire and rescue station operations commander Razani Mamat said Rohaya Jaafar, 42, had picked up her sons, aged nine and 14, from school when the accident occurred at 1.30pm.
'The fire and rescue team managed to extricate the victim, who was pinned in her car, but she was confirmed dead by the medical team at about 2.30pm,' Bernama reported him as saying.
Razani said the nine-year-old boy suffered injuries to his head while the 14-year-old suffered injuries to his head and feet.
The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
The body was handed over to police while the two boys were taken to hospital.
