The Winnipeg Police Service has arrested five people after investigating a gun incident.
On June 12 just after 8:30 a.m., police said a man was seen pointing a handgun at passing cars near Burrows Avenue and McKenzie Street. He then ran inside a private residence in the 600 block of Alfred Avenue, according to police.
Patrol officers along with the tactical support team and the remotely piloted aircraft systems unit found five people within the residence, who were safely arrested.
A search warrant was executed, and with help from the firearms investigation and enforcement unit, a 12-gauge shotgun, a pellet gun, 'a large quantity of ammunition,' 'various firearms components,' and body armour were seized.
Police said three of the arrested individuals were held in custody, who have all been charged with multiple firearms-related offences.
A 35-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were also charged with firearms offences and were released on undertakings.
