Shoppers race to Asda as bargain flamingo trees are on sale – they grow super fast & add instant privacy to your garden
GARDEN lovers are rushing to Asda to snap up flamingo trees that will add instant privacy to your garden. With summer now upon us, and the Met Office predicting glorious days ahead, many of us are likely planning to spend lots of time relaxing in the garden. 2 However, there's nothing worse than sitting outside with a glass of wine and a good book, only to realise that your nosy neighbour is peeking at you over the fence. Putting up a large fence around your garden may seem like the obvious choice to keep away prying eyes, but this can be expensive - and can sometimes lead to disagreements with neighbours. For a simple solution, flamingo trees grow tall and quickly, meaning that they will easily shroud your garden from prying eyes. Salix trees, which are more commonly known as flamingo tree s are native to the UK and are popular due to their bright pink foliage, which is a similar shade to the flamboyant birds they are named after. This makes them perfect for adding a splash of colour to your garden, whilst also ensuring your outdoor space is shrouded from prying eyes. Eagle-eyed shoppers recently spotted the elegant trees on sale at Asda. One garden lover, posting in the Extreme Bargains UK Facebook group said: "Salix Flamingo Trees are £13 At Asda." Alongside the post, the shopper shared a picture of the puffy pink trees on display at the popular supermarket. Flamingo tree fans raced to the comments section of the post, to share their delight at the discovery. One person said: "I bought one a couple of years ago it is still looking good every year." Gardening fans are going wild for Salix Flamingo Trees which are being flogged for bargain prices and will totally transform your garden in minutes A second person said: "I bought three this year!" A third person, tagging a friend said: "These are the ones I was on about." And Asda isnt' the only store that's stocking flamingo trees this summer. Hawk-eyed bargain hunters recently spotted the sought-after plants on sale at B&M for just £10. How to create privacy in your garden CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden: 1. Fencing Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy. 2. Hedges and Plants Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier. 3. Outdoor Curtains Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution. 4. Sound Barriers A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern. People couldn't believe their eyes after a fellow Flamingo Tree fan let everyone know in a Facebook group, Bargain Lovers, they were being sold for the cheapest price yet. Delighted users started commenting and tagging their friends in. One person wrote: "That's a great price they are lovely shrubs so pretty." Meanwhile, another added: "Love these, £10, right bargain." And The Range is currently selling the trees for the slightly pricier cost of £14.99. The chain advised shoppers via a Facebook post: "Flock to stores before these fly away!" Delighted users swarmed the post with one person writing "I love these" and another adding "I need these for my garden". 2

The ‘flamboyant' B&M buy that'll turn your garden into a colourful paradise, and it'll cost you less than a tenner too
IF your garden is in need of some colour, you should head to your local B&M sharpish. As the high street store has one of the most "flamboyant" trees around on sale for just £10 each. 5 5 5 5 One shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share a snap of the flamingo trees in the store. "£10 Salix flamingo trees in Wrexham B&M," they wrote. Someone else posted a picture of their flamingo tree in full bloom, as they said: "Eight years ago mine started off like one of these. "They are lovely trees - I have 3, this one is my biggest." "Just got my 2 plants today, good deal," another added. "I've just got 1 today - got the smaller 1 last year, bought the bigger 1 today," someone else said. "Only the big stores with the garden centres have them," another commented. "Got mine yesterday," someone else raved. "Mission for the weekend - find a B&M with one of these!" another wrote. "I'm having one this year," someone else vowed. I made a DIY fence for £68 with pallets from Facebook Marketplace - it gives more privacy & people say it's 'fantastic' While others used the comments section to share their gardening advice, and questions. "These are thirsty trees, need to be watered daily," one warned. "When you plant this do you take the fur thing off which is under the soil? I know it's a silly question," someone else asked. To which another replied: "I took mine off one of mine last year... it died. "I replaced it yesterday and the lady told me to leave on as protects from frost." According to garden centre Dobies, the Salix flamingo trees are perfect for adding a "splash of colour" to the garden, and are perfect if you've got a smaller green space thanks to their compact size. "This Salix is at its best from March until May, a subtle yet powerful explosion of colour to keep your eye on," they said, adding that as Autumn approaches, it changes to show off "fantastic warm orange tones... continuing the ultimate display". It's said to grow to around 2 metres high, and also spreads to approximately two metres as well. "Grow in a sunny or partially shaded position, in any well drained soil," they added. 5
