Driver hits police vehicle while fleeing from officers
Two men were arrested after they tried to flee – twice – from Waterloo Regional Police.
Officers were patrolling the Queen Street West area early Saturday morning when they spotted a vehicle they said was 'associated to a person wanted on a warrant.'
When police tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver took off.
The vehicle was then located a short time later on Hammet Street.
Once again, the driver tried to flee. During that attempt, police said the vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a Waterloo Regional Police vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Police said a 28-year-old man from Toronto was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
The passenger, a 22-year-old man from Caledon, was charged with possession of break-in instruments and possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft.
