PETALING JAYA : Police are investigating a scuffle between two men outside a convenience store at a mall here.
Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said in the June 8 incident, a fight between a 44-year-old local man and a foreigner erupted following a heated argument at the cashier counter.
'Both parties lodged police reports regarding the incident. Following further investigation, police have recorded statements from the two.
'We are in the midst of completing our investigation and will refer the case to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,' he said in a statement.
Shahrulnizam said the case is being probed under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
In a one-minute 20-second video currently making the rounds on social media, the two could be seen arguing in Chinese over who was first in line at the counter.
It got more heated when one of them was heard making a disparaging remark about Chinese nationals.
They were then seen wrestling each other outside the store.
