After a Flurry of Successful Lead Singles and the EP 'Ride or Die,' James Robert Webb Is Set to Drop His Highly Anticipated Outlaw Country-Inspired Fourth Album 'Weekend Outlaw' June 6
TULSA, Okla., June 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Over four decades since Loverboy iconically reminded us that everybody's "Working for the Weekend" and Waylon, Willie and company set the Nashville establishment on fire with their Outlaw Country movement, modern day storyweaver James Robert Webb offers a fresh twist on those empowering aesthetics with the drop of his highly anticipated fourth full-length album Weekend Outlaw Artfully weaving raw emotion, cinematic storytelling and clever turns of lyrical phrase into songs that feel all at once untamed, liberating and eternal, the veteran Tulsa OK singer/songwriter's 11 track set is the culmination of several years releasing a large batch of lead singles and the 2024 EP Ride or Die, Webb launched his current run of success with two songs that hit the upper reaches of the Texas Regional Radio Report chart – "Gentlemen Start Your Weekends" (#2) and "Lovesick Drifting Cowboy" (#1). Both appear on the EP and the new collection. With genre-busting outlaw soul, the tracks on the album aim to empower with a sound that is equal parts haunting mystery, explosive muscle and vibrant tradition, all captured by a spirit of fast-driving rebellion. Weekend Outlaw is inspired by and dedicated to folks like Webb who grew up in working class families and are successful professionals in other fields (in his case, a top musculoskeletal radiologist). Yet, especially since the pandemic, they realize that time is of the essence to pursue their creative dreams - and there's way more to life than the daily 9 to 5 grind. "We're all aware of the fleetingness of life, and know we've got to do it now," Webb says. "The whole 'Weekend Outlaw' mentality is about being true to our passions. My goal with the album is to encourage listeners to take ownership of their free time and follow the pursuits that come after clocking out on Friday night." Webb, who released his debut full-length Pictures in 2016, rose to prominence a few years later when two tracks from his 2020 self-titled album – "Something Out of Nothing" and "Stealing Home" – hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report chart. In 2022, he was named the Country Breakout Awards' Independent Artist of the Year (an honor bestowed by Nashville's Music Row Magazine) and a year later he was a 2023 New Faces nominee at the Texas Regional Radio Report Music Awards. Expected later in 2025, Webb makes his debut as an actor playing himself in a new family-friendly holiday film currently titled "Music City Mistletoe." In addition to singing his original song "Fighting for a Dream" on camera, the film will include his recording "Merry Magical Christmas," a song he co-wrote with the film's writer and executive producer Shantell Ogden. Anwar shares royal compliment on Malaysia's medical expertise
PETALING JAYA: Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah praised the quality and expertise of doctors at the National Heart Institute (IJN) after receiving treatment there. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed this during the Higher Education Ministry's Ilmuan Malaysia Madani forum titled "Transport for the People: Balancing Affordability, Quality and Sustainability of Public Transport." "His Majesty told me that, as someone with exposure to and experience with some of the world's best medical centres, he was very satisfied with the quality of service, excellence, and expertise of our doctors at IJN," he said. Anwar added that while the government welcomes criticism, Malaysians should also recognise national achievements, especially in healthcare. "So while we allow criticism, which is not a problem, we must also recognise the strengths we have, and there must be the drive to push ourselves to do better," he said. The Sultan of Brunei was in Kuala Lumpur for the 46th Asean Summit with other regional leaders. On May 27, he was reportedly feeling fatigued and was advised by health experts to rest at IJN. Anwar also spoke about his conversation with President of Guinea-Bissau General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, during which he asked why Malaysia was chosen despite limited bilateral trade. "His answer was that he follows developments here and sees Malaysia as a country on the rise, with significant potential. That's why he chose to come," he said. Embaló arrived today for a three-day visit—his first since taking office as president in February 2020. Malaysia and Guinea-Bissau established diplomatic relations in November 1974. In 2024, Malaysia's total trade with Guinea-Bissau reached RM4.1 million, with Malaysian exports amounting to RM4.04 million and imports standing at RM0.06 million.

80% of Osaka-Kansai Expo Visitors Want to Go 2nd Time, Says Survey; Foreign Tourists Make Up 13% of Visitors
> The Yomiuri Shimbun A parade celebrates Chile's National Day at the Osaka-Kansai Expo in Konohana Ward, Osaka, on Monday. About 80% of those who have visited the Osaka-Kansai Expo want to visit the event again, according to a survey by the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, the event's organizer. About 1.5 million people visited the event between April 13, when the event started, and April 30. The association surveyed via email those who visited during the period and had registered Expo IDs, which are required to make reservations to enter pavilions. Of those, 102,720 responded. Asked whether they want to come to the Expo again, 62.4% said yes and 21.6% said they somewhat did, meaning that 84% had some desire to return. As to whether they were generally satisfied, 44% said yes and 35.7% said they were somewhat satisfied. Asked what they wanted improved, some respondents noted that it was difficult to find restrooms and other facilities at the venue. '[The survey results] seem to indicate that visitors found the event far more interesting than how it was [previously] being talked about, and such impressions may be spreading through word of mouth,' said Hiroyuki Ishige, secretary general of the association. The Yomiuri Shimbun According to the association, there was a roughly even split between many of the age groups for visitors. The survey also showed that about 13% of visitors were foreign tourists. The association projects that there will be 28.2 million visitors during the Expo. Of those, 3.5 million, or 12.4%, are expected to be foreign visitors, about the same as the figure shown in the survey. The largest group of foreign visitors came from Asia, which accounted for 40.5% of people from overseas. From the event's opening through Saturday, there were 2.41 million visitors. The number of tickets sold had topped 11.37 million as of Friday. About 120,000 season passes, or multiple-entry passes usable at any time during the Expo, were sold after the Expo opened. That is more than double the number of season passes sold in advance. Subhead: Chile holds festival Chile's National Day event was held on Monday at the Expo in Konohana Ward, Osaka. About 25 performers, including dancers and musicians, paraded under the Grand Ring. Reproducing a Christian festival in honor of the Virgin Mary, dancers performed as devils wearing horned masks. Officials at the Chile Pavilion said the performance was meant to drive out evil spirits. 'They were dancing in costumes I've never seen in Japan. It was really fun,' said Yoko Nagai, 91, from Izumi, Osaka Prefecture, who visited the event with her husband.
