Decatur Fire Department responds to garage fire

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Fire Department was able to extinguish a garage fire Friday afternoon before it could fully spread to a nearby home. At approximately 2:55 p.m., the department responded to the report of a detached garage fire in the 2100 block of E Whitmer Street in Decatur. Upon arrival, crews found the garage fully engulfed in flames, with the fire beginning to spread to the nearby residence. Urbana Fire Department responds to house fire Firefighters immediately started an aggressive fire attack, successfully extinguishing the garage fire and preventing further spread to the home. The quick response and effective tactics of the firefighters resulted in the damage being limited to the exterior of the residence. Additionally, the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and was undergoing renovations. After fire suppression efforts, the Decatur Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The cause of this fire remains under investigation. In total, Battalion 1, Engine 6, Truck 2, Engine 7, Engine 4 and Engine 3 all responded to the fire. Ameren also provided help as an assisting agency on scene. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. No injuries in Saskatoon garage fire

A garage fire in the 700 block of 12th Street East was brought under control by firefighters on Friday morning. The incident was reported at around 11:25 a.m., and crews responded quickly to prevent the flames from spreading to the adjacent house and other nearby structures, according to the Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD). Upon arrival, firefighters found the detached garage fully engulfed in flames, and after applying water, the fire was contained and extinguished. A thorough search confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the area, and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. As of 12:56 a.m. on Saturday, a fire investigator was on the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. SFD says further information will be released as it becomes available.

According to the Franklin Fire Company on Facebook, on Saturday, May 31 at 4:30 a.m., crews responded to the area of Timber Lane & Buchanan Trail West in Peters Township, Franklin County for a garage fire. The post says that first arriving units encountered a fire emanating from a garage and engaged in defensive operations. Injuries were not disclosed. More details will come when they are available. Calgary crews investigating pair of S.E. garage fires

Calgary fire crews investigating a garage fire located in the alley of the 1500 block of 46 Street S.E. on May 27, 2025. (CTV News) Damage is still being assessed after two unrelated garage fires in southeast Calgary on Tuesday morning. The first, at about 5 a.m., was called in by a neighbour who saw a fire in the alley of the 1500 block of 46th Street S.E. When firefighters arrived, they found a detached garage shed on fire and were able to knock it down. Calgary fire says the building will likely be saved and that a vehicle inside only sustained slight damage. Then, at 7:15 a.m., firefighters responded to the 0-100 block of Prestwick Place S.E., after multiple calls to 911. (CTV News) Once there, they discovered a fully involved garage fire and people trying to extinguish it with a garden hose. Along with the damage to the garage, siding melted on nearby structures. No Injuries were reported due to either fire. There is no word yet on what caused the separate blazes.
