Minecraft's Chase The Skies Update Launches Tomorrow

Minecraft's newest update is dropping tomorrow, bringing a slew of new features and visual upgrades. Minecraft fans should be stoked to hear about the latest update! Minecraft's newest Chase the Skies update is dropping tomorrow on PC, consoles, and mobile, bringing a slew of new features. In addition to the new update, the new Vibrant Visuals is also releasing tomorrow—offering its first official visual boost. Mojang has been cooking up the upcoming visual overhaul in the labs for a while. They also dropped a new video showcasing the Chase the Skies features and Vibrant Visuals improvements. The Chase the Skies update was originally announced earlier this year in March. One of the new standout features that players will enjoy is getting a pet ghast. First up, players will be able to obtain their first flying mount by locating a 'dried ghast' block in the Nether. You'll be able to craft one too, and per the latest Minecraft blog post, all you'll need is 'ghast tears and a soul sand block.' Once you have your block, leave it in water to see it transform into your pet Ghastling. Other new features include a player location bar to help keep an eye on where other players are, even showing their elevation level. It will be seen in the same place as the XP bar. The developers also added leads, so players can leash mobs together, as well as mounts or even boats together, and saddles. This does not allow players to leash each other to each other though! Saddles are now craftable with 3 leather and 1 iron ingot at a crafting table. Also, shears can now release specific leads from a knot of leads, keeping the rest of the knot intact. The Vibrant Visuals update is the first big graphical overhaul for Minecraft since the cancelled Super Duper Graphics Pack was announced. Mojang's latest blog post outlined: 'Vibrant Visuals is initially only releasing on compatible Minecraft: Bedrock Edition devices. This is just the first step, and we plan to bring Vibrant Visuals to Minecraft: Java Edition in the future. For those who like to dive into Marketplace content, please be aware that Marketplace Add-Ons, Skins, and Persona items will work with Vibrant Visuals. However, Worlds and Texture Packs won't be compatible with the new mode at the time of launch.' Another unfortunate drawback with turning on Vibrant Visuals is that splitscreen multiplayer is not supported. The blog noted that the game 'will switch to Fancy or Simple rendering if multiple players are joined locally. ' The visual improvement update allows players to experience a new side to Minecraft with rebalanced light and shadow enhancements. This means seeing water reflections, shaded forests, fog drifts, and waterfalls glimmering from the beautiful sun's rays. So far, the supported devices for these two updates include Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and PC.
