Boylan takes over sole possession of first place in NIC-10 soccer with a win over Hononegah
LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Boylan Lady Titans pulled away from a first-place tie with Hononegah in NIC-10 girls soccer Tuesday night by defeating Hononegah 5-2.
A low scoring first half turned into an offensive second half. Only one goal was scored in the first half. Sophie Moore sent a header toward the Hononegah goal that Kylie Tewell knocked in for a 1-0 Boylan lead.
In the second half, the Lady Titans scored a pair of goals only 40 seconds apart by Joscelyn Posada and Ava Galluzzo for a 3-0 lead. Hononegah got on the board on a long shot by Sophia Plourde making it 3-1. Boylan added two more goals and Hononegah one more for the final of 5-2.
Boylan improves to 7-0 in NIC-10 play. Hononegah is now 6-1. For highlights, watch the media player above.
