Sunny, summer weather today

Warm, hazy weather today across the region. Despite a windy morning, today's weather will be sunny and warm. The sunshine may be hazy throughout the day. 'Today the forest fires are creating copious amounts of smoke across the prairies, and that smoke is filtering down to some of the mid levels and giving us that hazy sunshine,' said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. Wednesday's weather brings rain and possibility of a thunderstorm, along with a weak cold front. 'There won't be a sharp temperature change with this front, but the temperatures will dip just a bit,' said Atchison. Why are central Ohio's skies hazy? Blame Canada

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – With temperatures rising and the rain gone for now, the skies around Ohio – particularly the southern part of the state – may appear a bit hazy, and there's a reason for that. According to the website, the skies in that portion of the state are hazy due to wildfires burning in the Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces of central Canada, located above North Dakota. The air quality in this part of the state is listed as moderate, with the warning that anyone 'unusually sensitive' to particle pollution should take it easy when outside. The area listed by the website as being under this moderate air quality includes southern Columbus and Franklin County, stretches down to Ohio's southern counties and into Kentucky, and across the southern part of Ohio from the Indiana border into West Virginia.
