Hazardous air quality peaks Sunday in Manitoba, triggers alerts in U.S.

Wildfire smoke is driving down air quality readings for Manitoba with areas like Flin Flon, Bissett and Winnipeg experiencing a 10+ or 'very high risk' reading on the health index scale for May 30 and May 31.
Poor conditions will peak on Sunday night and gradually improve overnight according to the Air Quality Health Index.
The Government of Canada recommends reducing and rescheduling activities outdoors especially if you experience coughing and throat irritation. People are advised to avoid strenuous activities outdoors, especially children and the elderly.
The wildfires have triggered air quality alerts in parts of the U.S. including all of Minnesota through Monday, June 2, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
