Kmart, Target urgently recall popular Anko product Heated Elbow Pad
A popular heat wrap sold at Kmart and Target stores across Australia has been urgently recalled over safety fears. The Anko Heated Elbow Wrap, designed to offer muscle relief, could pose a risk of burn injuries, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said in its recall issued on Tuesday. The rechargeable heat pad could overheat if incorrectly positioned or wrapped too tightly. Injuries have occurred, the notice continued. Anyone who purchased the product from Kmart or Target between January 1 and April 4 has been urged to 'stop using it immediately.' Customers can return the product for a full refund. Kmart issued a statement on social media. 'We take the quality and safety of our products very seriously,' the company said. 'We would like to advise you of a product safety recall.' Anyone who bought the product as a gift for someone has been urged by the ACCC to contact the store. If returning the product is not possible, customers should contact Kmart on 1800 124 125 or Target on 1300 753 567 for further information.

BREAKING NEWS Fan-favourite Kmart product is urgently recalled after customer suffered painful burns
A heat wrap designed to soothe and offer relief has been urgently recalled after the news that a customer was injured. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a notice alerting Australians about Kmart's Anko Heated Elbow Wrap on Tuesday. Anyone who bought it from a Kmart or Target between January 1 and April 4 has been told to 'stop using it immediately'. The Chinese-manufactured product was sold online as well as internationally and nationally. 'The elbow wrap can overheat if it is positioned incorrectly or it is wrapped around too tight on the elbow,' the ACCC said in a statement on Tuesday. 'Injuries have occurred.' The notice said the product risks burning the skin, with increased risk for heat-sensitive customers. Following the notice, the Australian store released a statement on social media, sharing the warning with customers. 'At Kmart, we take the quality and safety of our products very seriously,' they said. '(This) is why we would like to advise you of a product safety recall on the following product sold between 01/01/2025 - 04/04/2025.' Target Australia also shared the notice for the product recall. Customers who purchased the heated elbow wrap have been told to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. If not possible, Australians have been advised to contact the store of purchase. Anyone who might have sold or gifted the product to another person has been told to contact Kmart or Target.
