Body found in river during Canterbury search
(File photo) Photo: Police say a body has been found during a search and rescue operation in Canterbury. About 3:15pm on Thursday, a helicopter crew taking part in the search said it had spotted a body in the Boyle River, police said in a bulletin. "While the formal identification process is yet to be completed, it is believed to be the man who was swept into the river earlier this afternoon," they said. "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this tragic time. Much of New Zealand has been hit by storms, with strong winds and heavy rain in some places. Toddler found 1 kilometre away from home in rural Alberta after overnight search
A two-year-old child was found early Monday morning one kilometre away from their family home in rural Alberta almost eight hours after they were reported missing. The missing report was made to Fairview RCMP, in Peace Country in northern Alberta, at 10:24 p.m. Sunday. Several emergency agencies sent resources to help with the search, including from B.C., and more than 100 community members joined the effort. The child was spotted by a helicopter crew at 6:05 a.m.. They were uninjured, police said.
