Holmes County's Garrett named Rural Player of the Year
BONIFAY, Fla. (WMBB) – Holmes County senior pitcher, Bradley Garrett was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Rural Player of the Year. Each summer, the Florida Dairy Farmers honor the top high school baseball talent across the state by naming a Player of the Year in each classification. Those honorees are then entered into consideration for the prestigious Florida Mr. Baseball award. Garrett, a Northwest Florida State College signee, delivered a complete-game performance in the state finals to help secure the title for the Blue Devils. He wrapped up his senior season with a 1.15 ERA and 105 strikeouts. At the plate, he batted .432 with 29 runs scored and 28 RBIs. South Walton's Willcox named Class 3A Player of the Year
SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – South Walton senior pitcher, Charlie Willcox was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 3A Player of the Year. Each summer, the Florida Dairy Farmers honor the top high school baseball talent across the state by naming a Player of the Year in each classification. Those honorees are then entered into consideration for the prestigious Florida Mr. Baseball award. The Georgia Tech signee played a key role in leading the Seahawks to their second consecutive appearance in the state finals. Willcox posted a 1.31 ERA with 79 strikeouts, while also batting .375 with 16 runs scored and 24 RBIs. The Florida Mr. Baseball winner is expected to be announced on June 9. It's Miller's time, Cards in Class 2 title game
OZARK, Mo–The Missouri state high school baseball championships are underway. In Class 2, the Miller Cardinals represented the ozarks against Chaffee. The Red Devils are from near Cape Girardeau. And Chaffee has been to the final four for three straight years now. The is Miller's first time back to the final four since 1996. And the Cardinals were ready. On the hill, Jase Wilkinson, a southpaw sophomore who was super. He would strike out Kamden Little to get things going in the first inning. Chaffee was playing some great defense. Here Miller tries to bunt, but Mason Vaughn makes the diving catch for the first out. Then throws to first to complete the twin killing. We're still scoreless. Miller's Wilkinson was throwing b-b's, here he gets another strikeout. The lefty goes five and one third with six strikeouts. The Cards get on the board in the sixth, Colton brown with the bunt, bad throw to first, allows Jarod Lung to score it's 1-0. Then the pitcher Wilkinson singles to left, that scores Paul Nunez and Brown, and Miller wins 3-1. Miller plays Eugene for the Class 2 championship Tuesday at 1p.m. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Knight's walk off Wheatland 4-3 in 9
OZARK, Mo–The Missouri State High School Activities Association has set up camp in Ozark. For the next week, the best high school baseball players in Missouri will compete for a state championship. Monday was for Class 1 and Class 2. In Class 1, Wheatland was flying the colors for the ozarks. The Mules squared off with Faith Christian Academy out of the Kansas City area. Scoreless in third and the Knights with the chopper to short, Elliot LaFrance scores on the fielder's choice 1-0 Faith Christian. But Wheatland had the bases loaded in the sixth, and Avery Ohrazda singles to right, that clears the bases, Branden Sawyer, Andrew Dougherty and Lucas Gautieri all score it's 3-1 Mules. The Knights made it 3-2. Then FCA's Parker Blanton lays down the safety squeeze, Gabriel Caponetto scores it's 3-3. Stayed that way until the bottom of the ninth when LaFrance grounds past the drawn in infield, Caedmon Gibler scores and Faith Christian walks it off with a 4-3 nine inning win.
