Woman killed, child injured in Highway 401 crash
A 40-year-old woman from Cambridge is dead and a six-year-old is in hospital with minor injuries after a crash on highway 401 near James Snow Parkway, June 7, 2025 (X/@OPP_HSD).
A 40-year-old Cambridge woman has died following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 eastbound near James Snow Parkway Saturday morning, police say.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:11 a.m., when the woman's vehicle struck a guide rail and was then hit by an eastbound pickup truck, according to the Mississauga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her six-year-old daughter, who was also in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
None of the four occupants in the other vehicle were injured.
The eastbound express lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while police investigated.
