Saudi Electricity Company boosts Haj grid capacity by 75%
The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has significantly increased the electrical grid capacity in the holy sites for this Hajj season by over 75% compared to last year, investing more than SAR3 billion in development projects. This enhancement, guided by government directives and Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, stems from a thorough review of past Hajj seasons and anticipated needs, reported SPA. SEC stated that projects were implemented early, ensuring full load connectivity for network reliability. The operations and management center in the holy sites is now equipped with advanced, AI-supported technical applications for comprehensive system monitoring, with equipment connected via fiber optics for rapid information flow and timely decision-making by trained national cadres, said the report. SEC has also developed a robust emergency plan, deploying over 2,200 engineers, technicians, and specialists across 57 strategically located centers to ensure a response time of under five minutes anywhere in the holy sites, it added. Saudi Defense Ministry's Health Services Launches First Mobile Field Hospital in Holy Sites
The Saudi Ministry of Defense's Health Services launched a mobile field hospital for the first time in the holy sites, as part of its efforts to support the healthcare system during the Hajj and provide comprehensive medical services to pilgrims in line with the highest standards of quality and safety, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday. The state-of-the-art mobile field hospital comprises 29 trailers and 26 modules that house all main hospital components, including the main entrance, connecting corridors, emergency exits, and essential services, enabling full-scale medical operations in a field environment. The hospital includes inpatient wards with a capacity of 50 beds, a fully equipped pharmacy with a medicine storage unit, a radiology unit, a medical laboratory, and specialized clinics. It also features a surgical operating room with a recovery and sterilization wing, intensive care and observation units, and an emergency department. The mobile field hospital's inauguration reflects the vital role of the Ministry of Defense in serving the pilgrims and boosting the readiness of the health infrastructure in the holy sites, helping pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.

Saudi Water Authority Conducts 5,000 Inspections on Water Networks in Holy Sites, Makkah
The Saudi Water Authority (SWA), in collaboration with partners in the water sector, is conducting intensive inspection tours across the holy sites and Makkah to ensure the readiness and reliability of water supply systems for this year's Hajj. As the peak Hajj season approaches, the authority is intensifying its monitoring of 14 critical water service networks in Makkah and the holy sites, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday. These networks represent one of the world's most advanced and integrated water infrastructures, dedicated to serving pilgrims. They encompass potable water systems, sewage networks, cooling water, sprinkler systems, and firefighting infrastructure. Specialized teams continuously monitor these networks to maintain operational readiness, anticipate potential malfunctions, and promptly identify any technical issues or operational violations, enabling immediate corrective action. As part of an early monitoring strategy, approximately 5,000 inspection rounds have been carried out by 12 dedicated field teams, totaling over 2,000 hours of on-site work to date.

Saudi minister of Islamic affairs inspects new projects at holy sites ahead of Hajj
MAKKAH: Saudi Arabia's Minister of Islamic Affairs inspected holy sites on Thursday to ensure preparations were complete to receive pilgrims for the Hajj season. Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh inaugurated eight development projects worth more than $9 million (SR33.7 million) as part of the tour. The development projects include upgrades at Namira Mosque in Arafat. These feature the installation of 19 structural umbrellas, similar to those at the Prophet's Mosque, and heat-reflective coatings applied to floor surfaces in the mosque's courtyard, reducing temperatures by up to 10 C in shaded areas. The tour also marked the second phase of the courtyard cooling project, including the installation of 98 misting fans in and around Namira Mosque. In Mina, 57 misting fans were installed as part of improvements at Al-Khaif Mosque and public restrooms. A total of 70 cold water production units, each with a capacity of 1,000 liters, were installed to supply as many as 140,000 pilgrims per hour. Other upgrades include the installation of an integrated audio, surveillance and lighting control system managed via a centralized electronic unit. Carbon dioxide monitoring devices have also been installed for the first time to ensure indoor air quality for worshippers. Additional upgrades included the modernization of air conditioning and ventilation systems at Namira and Al-Khaif mosques; restoration of Namira Mosque, including improved insulation and operational efficiency; and the renovation of Hajjaj Al-Barr Mosque in Mina. The total value of these projects exceeds $9 million. Following the tour and projects inauguration, Al-Sheikh praised the generous support of the country's leadership for pilgrims attending Hajj. He highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to ensuring that pilgrims can perform their rituals in comfort and tranquility. The minister said that continuous support has empowered the ministry to fulfill its responsibilities in preparing the sites of worship, developing infrastructure and delivering services.
