Racing Victoria has confirmed a female stable employee died after she was understood to be kicked by a horse while working in the stables of her employee. RV issued a statement confirming the tragedy at the stable, which has yet to be named. A woman has died after being kicked in the head by a horse at a leading stable in Victoria on Tuesday morning. The stablehand was working at the Cranbourne Training Centre on Melbourne's south-east outskirts when the tragedy occurred, according to Racing Victoria. 'It is with great sadness that Racing Victoria confirms that a female employee has tragically passed away following an incident at the Cranbourne Training Centre this morning,' the statement read. 'Victoria Police and WorkSafe are on-site investigating the circumstances of the incident in which the employee is believed to have been kicked by a horse in the stables of her employer.' Paramedics performed CPR on the woman but were unable to save her, Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia. 'Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a woman in Cranbourne on 1 July,' the statement read. 'Emergency services were called to a training facility on Cemetery Road just after 7.30am following reports a woman had been kicked by a horse in stables. 'CPR was performed but the yet to be formally identified woman has died at the scene. 'The death is not being treat as suspicious and WorkSafe has been notified.' Racing Victoria said trackwork at the facility has been cancelled following the death and assistance is being offered to the woman's employer.
