NYT ‘Strands' Today: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Tuesday, May 20th

Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Credit: New York Times Looking for Monday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Monday was the first day on my trip to the UK that I saw even a hint of rain. It's been unseasonably warm and sunny, so I was happy to get some clouds and rain. I get enough sun in Arizona! Besides, I packed too warm. In any case, it was good timing because I also went to my first Scottish hot yoga class and it was so nice to come out of that into lovely rainy weather. But I digress. We have a Strands to solve, so let's solve it! Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board, revealing more about the rest of the words on the grid. Spoilers ahead. Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I'm giving out three hints instead of two. Today's Theme: Oh, Of Course! Hint: The fish you caught in yesterday's Strands could be part of this theme. Clue: But you'd probably start with some small plates and after the fish, maybe a chocolate mousse. Here are the first two letters of each of today's words: Remember, spoilers ahead! Today's spangram is: FINEDINING Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands Credit: Erik Kain This was pretty inscrutable at first and I had a hard time getting started, but once I found SALAD I was pretty sure I knew what was what. Others came quickly. DESSERT and SOUP made FINE appear, and it was easy enough to extrapolate that out to FINEDINING. I struggled mostly with APPETIZER. I kept seeing ZIPPER and TEA. It finally clicked. How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook.
