Ahmad Fuzi's Service A Golden Legacy For Penang
BUTTERWORTH, April 28 (Bernama) – Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has described Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak's service and contributions during his four years as the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang as a golden legacy that will forever be etched in the state's history.
Chow said Ahmad Fuzi's leadership not only protected but also nurtured, developed and cared for all levels of society with great compassion.
"One of Tun's legacies reflecting his concern was the establishment of the Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT) Penang Foundation, which actively assists the underprivileged while symbolising Tun's care for the people's welfare.
"In environmental sustainability, Tun's initiative to realise the 'One Million Trees in One Day' planting campaign not only earned recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records but also created a green heritage whose benefits will be enjoyed by future generations," he said in his speech at the State Government's Appreciation Dinner here tonight.
Ahmad Fuzi attended the event with his wife Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo, state government leaders, consuls-general and honorary consuls, as well as state and federal department heads.
