Woman teacher at Grays school banned for sexual messages to pupil
A woman has been banned from teaching after a panel found she sent messages about her sexual encounters to a pupil and encouraged him to smoke cannabis with Doman, then 32, was teaching history at William Edwards secondary school in Grays, Essex, when her inappropriate contact began.A Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) panel was told she sent messages to the pupil where she called him "little duck" and said to him she loved him, but she denied what she said was Cavey, TRA chief executive, decided she should be banned from teaching indefinitely, subject to a five-year review period. The TRA heard Ms Doman sent dozens of messages to the child, who the panel referred to as Pupil A, between April and May one she said: "You're not even legal or an adult or anything. Like, am I taking advantage of you? Some days it feels like you're taking advantage of me lol."In messages seen by the panel, she told him: "YOU have all the control in this relationship."She also told Pupil A details about her sexual relationships, the panel found, saying in an Instagram message: "One night I ended up with three different guys." 'Pull sickies' She was said to have made comments about the pupil's appearance and messaged him, saying: "I literally go get waxed every eight weeks for no-one to appreciate it."The panel also heard Ms Doman encouraged Pupil A and his friends to "pull sickies" on a day she was off school, and at least once invited Pupil A to spend time alone with now 34-year-old did not attend her misconduct hearing, but in written statements said the "little duck" nickname was "not romantic".She said she was letting the pupil "know that someone cared about his existence" in telling him she loved Doman admitted she also encouraged Pupil A to drink alcohol and smoke cannabis with her, and said: "I am unsure why any of this occurred."I certainly don't behave like this myself. I drink alcohol less than once a month and never to excess, and I've never taken drugs."The teacher also admitted she had sent Pupil A messages outside of school hours and acknowledged she told him to "remove all trace" of her from his Doman denied her conduct was sexually motivated and said she saw Pupil A as "like her child", but the panel ruled on the said Ms Doman's behaviour had a "seriously damaging" impact on Pupil A, his parents, the school and its wider community, and her conduct "had the potential to influence Pupil A in a harmful way".Ms Doman was facing "difficulties" in her personal life at the time, the hearing was told, but the panel ruled that she "did not show sufficient insight in respect of the impact her conduct had on others". West Michigan social worker accused of having inappropriate communications with students
A social worker who works with middle school students in the Kentwood Public Schools district is accused of having inappropriate communications with several students. Dequindre Malik Wiggins, 26, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is charged with accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime. The Kent County Sheriff's Office says Wiggins is a licensed master social worker and was employed at Valleywood Middle School in Kentwood. Detectives began investigating Wiggins on May 9 when a parent reported inappropriate contact between her child and Wiggins to a sheriff's office road patrol. An investigation revealed that Wiggins had contact with other students on online platforms. Following an investigation, the Kent County Prosecutor's Office issued a nationwide, extraditable arrest warrant on May 21. Wiggins was located in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 21 and arrested by the Lexington Police Department. He is awaiting extradition at the Fayette County Detention Center. "The Kent County Sheriff's Office continues to prioritize the safety of children and holds accountable those who violate positions of trust. We urge parents to stay involved in their children's online and gaming activity and to report any suspicious interactions," said Sgt. Scott Dietrich, Kent County Sheriff's Office public information officer. PALM BAY, Fla. - A Palm Bay substitute teacher has been arrested after he allegedly shared an inappropriate photo of himself with a female student. Ajani McPherson, 27, used "vanish mode" on Instagram to send a nude picture to an underage student, police said. Why you should care Newly released court documents outline the conversation between Ajani McPherson and the underage student. According to a police affidavit, McPherson admitted to knowing the student's age and sending her a nude photo. The student recorded the messages on another phone and reported McPherson to the School Resource Officer. According to the affidavit, on May 8, McPherson began messaging the student on Instagram. McPherson allegedly asked the student if she had a boyfriend. Police stated the student asked McPherson if he knew how old she was, to which he replied yes and told her he was 27. McPherson continued messaging with the student, allegedly sending a message stating he wanted to tell her something, but she couldn't tell anyone. At that point, investigators said the student agreed to put the conversation on "vanish mode" and that's when McPherson allegedly sent the student a fully nude photo of himself. Vanish mode on Instagram lets people send each other disappearing messages, photos, videos and other content which then disappears when vanish mode is turned off or someone leaves the chat. In vanish mode, you cannot copy, save, or forward messages and if a screenshot is taken, the other user receives a notification. What they're saying Tech expert and co-founder of the company Jason Thatcher, says vanish mode causes messages to be automatically deleted. "Once the session ends, the whole message will disappear. Very similar to like a signal and different messaging apps," said Thatcher. "It's both a privacy and a security feature as well to make sure no one can go back and look at that chat." Thatcher says since the messages disappear, vanish mode can create concerns for parents trying to keep their children safe online. "The one thing I stress is that it's always okay to come to Mom and Dad and vocalize if you're ever in danger, have a concern, or something weird," said Thatcher. "Having that safe communication path with your kids, It's really important in this day and age." Officials said the man was arrested after he allegedly shared a nude photo of himself with a female student. The school leaders have identified the man as 27-year-old Ajani McPherson. What we don't know It is currently unclear how young the female student that was shown the picture is. Officials have not clarified if there could be other possible victims. What they're saying Brevard officials said McPherson was not a coach, was "not a regular substitute teacher" and had not been with the school for even a month when the arrest happened. They said he is no longer employed by Brevard Public Schools. "We are deeply troubled by these accusations and (are) working closely with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation," school officials said in a prepared statement.
