Kanoo Energy, Spirax Sarco partner to distribute steam management systems in KSA
Kanoo Energy, a division of Kanoo Industrial and Energy under the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, has signed a landmark distribution agreement with Spirax Sarco, a global leader in steam and thermal energy solutions. The partnership will enable the distribution and local servicing of advanced steam management systems in the Kingdom, reinforcing both companies' shared commitment to national goals of industrial excellence and customer-centricity. With decades of operational expertise and regional insight, Kanoo Energy is uniquely positioned to bring globally trusted technologies closer to the Kingdom. Through this collaboration with Spirax Sarco, the company will now offer a comprehensive suite of steam system solutions; fully supported by in-Kingdom technical expertise, customer service, and local response. 'Our agreement with Spirax Sarco is a natural extension of our localization agenda,' said Ali Abdulla Kanoo, Deputy Chairman, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo and President of Kanoo Industrial & Energy. 'By strengthening local access to world-class steam technologies, we are supporting Saudi industries with faster delivery and enhanced service reliability, while contributing to the Kingdom's broader objectives of industrial self-sufficiency.' This distribution agreement will allow Kanoo Energy to represent and supply Spirax Sarco's full range of steam system offerings within Saudi Arabia, including energy audits & services. The initiative aligns closely with the goals of the In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) program and the National Industrial Strategy, both of which aim to enhance local capabilities and stimulate economic diversification. Abu Dhabi Chamber reinforces pioneering role in shaping Future of Industry at MIITE
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's pavilion at the 'Make it in the Emirates', which concluded on Thursday, showcased its role in translating Abu Dhabi's industrial ambitions into tangible outcomes that boost economic performance indicators, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology's Operation 300 Billion. The ADCCI brought together four key national partners who represent the pillars of the emirate's industrial and knowledge strength: Khalifa University of Science and Technology, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD), part of the Department of Government Empowerment, and Abu Dhabi Polytechnic. Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said, 'Make it in the Emirates is an ambitious platform that reinforces Abu Dhabi and the UAE's position as a global centre for industrial excellence, innovation, and opportunity. Through our participation, we aim to empower national companies, strengthen global partnerships, and build a workforce capable of leading the economy of the future.' On the sidelines of MIITE, the Abu Dhabi Chamber signed a MoU with the Khalifa University of Science and Technology. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation and consolidate the partnership between the academic and business sectors in Abu Dhabi by supporting knowledge transfer, promoting innovation, and empowering human capital. It also aims to create valuable opportunities for both sides through joint initiatives that offer integrated educational and business environments for students and entrepreneurs. Throughout the event, the pavilion saw widespread interaction from visitors, showcasing the chamber's leading services and solutions supporting the UAE industrial sector. ADCCI played a pivotal role by hosting the Chamber Dialogue series, a leading dialogue platform that brought together private sector leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators to discuss mechanisms for business expansion, industrial innovation, and enhancing the success of startups and SMEs. The chamber presented many topics, including preparing for Abu Dhabi Business Week and learning about the Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council, along with discussions on the House of Innovation and how to shape the future of Abu Dhabi's industry. Other topics included sustainability and environmentalism, social and corporate governance, as well as the success story of the Union Paper Mill and inspiring industrial growth through the growth of the Union Copper Rod Mill, among others. The Abu Dhabi Chamber also provided a space for its partners to build strategic partnerships and showcase the latest innovative technological solutions and techniques.

ADNOC L&S contributes $272mln to UAE economy through In-Country Value in 2024
ABU DHABI - Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S), highlighted the company's strategic role in advancing industrial excellence and empowering national capabilities, in line with the UAE's vision for economic diversification. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the "Make it in the Emirates" forum, Al Masabi expressed pride in ADNOC L&S' inaugural participation in this leading national platform. He reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting local manufacturing and fostering industrial innovation across the UAE. He revealed that ADNOC L&S has commissioned the construction of 31 vessels within the country. A move that has created over 300 jobs and significantly bolstered the UAE's industrial base. These vessels are currently deployed in transporting personnel, cargo, and providing offshore logistics support—underscoring the company's vital contribution to enhancing local production and operational resilience. He noted that in 2024 alone, the company contributed approximately AED1 billion in in-country value to the national economy, reaffirming its ongoing collaboration with local and federal entities to strengthen domestic manufacturing and industrial growth. Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi emphasised that ADNOC L&S' contribution goes beyond economic growth—it also encompasses the integration of cutting-edge technologies and AI. He highlighted the company's leadership in this area through the implementation of the AI-powered SMARTi system. Developed in collaboration with AIQ, the joint venture between ADNOC and G42, the SMARTi system enables real-time monitoring, detection, and reporting of high-risk scenarios. It has proven highly effective in enhancing performance across health, safety, and environmental domains. Al Masabi also highlighted the company's investment in advanced remote-control forklift technology, noting that the software was developed and integrated by the Sinaha Technology directly onto ADNOC L&S equipment—demonstrating a successful collaboration in local innovation and smart industrial solutions. He added that ADNOC L&S' fleet includes vessels built locally, such as oil spill response vessels. These are critical assets in safeguarding the marine environment and ensuring operational safety. He highlighted that ADNOC Logistics & Services' collaboration with local shipbuilding companies stands as a strong testament to its commitment to advancing national industry and supporting domestic production. Partnerships with esteemed UAE-based firms such as Al Manzel Marine, Al Bawardi Damen, Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Grandweld, and Premier Marine Engineering Services reflect the company's strategic focus on modernising maritime infrastructure and strengthening local operational capabilities. Al Masabi highlighted that ADNOC L&S showcase of REGENT's innovative wing-in-ground effect seaglider at the "Make it in the Emirates" forum was a strategic move aimed at promoting its future local manufacturing. He described the seaglider as a cutting-edge hybrid vehicle that merges the capabilities of both a ship and an aircraft. Designed to significantly reduce carbon emissions, it represents a forward-looking solution to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of maritime transportation. Regarding workforce development, Al Masabi emphasised that ADNOC Logistics & Services' "People First" strategy reflects the company's deep commitment to nurturing a diverse and highly skilled talent pool. He noted that the company employs over 11,000 professionals, including more than 3,200 seafarers. He added that ADNOC L&S continues to empower Emirati talent and train the next generation of maritime professionals and industry leaders through hands-on, onboard training programmes. In 2024 alone, more than 136 trainees from 15 different nationalities participated in these programmes, with women representing nearly one-fifth of the cohort. Al Masabi reaffirmed the company's ongoing efforts to increase female representation and support the emergence of a new generation of women in maritime careers.

UAE's industrial trailblazers honoured at Make it in Emirates 2025
Eleven trailblazers driving industrial excellence in the UAE were honored today at the Make it in the Emirates Awards 2025 – a flagship activation of the country's premier industrial platform, Make it in the Emirates 2025, held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The awards ceremony celebrated individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to local manufacturing, advanced technology adoption, Emiratization, and national industrial competitiveness. Launched by MoIAT in 2023, the Make it in the Emirates Awards recognize excellence across the national industrial ecosystem. The awards spotlight leadership in areas such as advanced manufacturing, sustainability, leadership, talent development, and support for the National In-Country Value Program – core pillars of the UAE's vision for a diversified, knowledge-based economy. The 2025 edition received a record number of nominations across nine categories, evaluated under five strategic pillars: In-Country Value, Factory of the Future, Industry Enablers, Leadership and Talent, and UAE Traditional Crafts. These submissions highlighted the growing industrial innovation and leadership within the UAE.
