Even before Trump's latest trade war, India was gunning for a greater slice, not only of the smartphone industry, but the entire supply chain, hoping to lure more international businesses away from China. Now, with Apple announcing it will build all US-bound smartphones in India, and US tariffs potentially handing it a competitive advantage, India is seeing new momentum.
