Bafana coach Hugo Broos happy with performances of newcomers in draw with Tanzania
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos was satisfied with the performances of some of the new players during the 0-0 international friendly draw with Tanzania at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday. Broos handed out a number of debuts in his new-look Bafana side and he was happy with the way they accounted for themselves despite playing together for the first time for the national team. In what turned out to be a dull match played under cold conditions in Polokwane, Broos gave starting opportunities to Ricardo Goss, Deano van Rooyen, Thabo Moloisane, Kulumane Ndamane, Fawaaz Basadien, Simphiwe Selepe, Tshepang Moremi and Ashley Cupido. Some of the these players ordinarily would not have been considered but they benefited from the absence of their Mamelodi Sundowns counterparts who leave at the weekend for the Fifa Club World Cup in the US. 'After every game we give jerseys to players who were earning their first cap and we gave about eight after this match,' he said as he reflected on the share of the spoils with the Taifa Stars.

Bafana Bafana were held to a 0-0 draw by Tanzania during their dull international friendly at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday night. Bafana coach Hugo Broos said the result in this match is not important but they will have to give an improved performance when they host Mozambique at the same venue on Tuesday. It was a match of few notable moments where Broos gave opportunities to Ricardo Goss, Deano van Rooyen, Thabo Moloisane, Kulumane Ndamane, Fawaaz Basadien, Simphiwe Selepe, Tshepang Moremi and Ashley Cupido in the starting line-up. Argentina lined up to play controversial friendly in RUSSIA this year despite Fifa ban
ARGENTINA are set to play Russia in an international friendly this November, according to reports. The Russian national team has largely been shunned since the country's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. 4 Russia were kicked out of the 2022 World Cup, and have been banned by Fifa ever since. Argentine football reporter Gaston Edul claimed last month that a meeting could be on the cards. And further reports from Telegram in Russia suggest that a game is in the works for the November international break. Such a deal would see the world champions travel to Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium for a match. A preliminary agreement has reportedly been agreed, with the Luzhniki having been reserved for dates between November 10 and 18. Should the match go ahead, it is unlikely that big stars such as Lionel Messi will participate. That's because Western sponsors would likely be uncomfortable with their partners playing in Russia. Russia's ban has seen them not play in Fifa or Uefa competitions since 2021. KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — National head coach Peter Cklamovski believes the 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in a Tier 1 international friendly is proof that the Harimau Malaya squad is making steady progress. The 46-year-old Australian tactician said the performance shown by his charges who managed to hold the world's 72nd-ranked team reflects the hard work being put in by the team at present. 'For us, it's a really clear focus on what we're doing as a team and last night showed that.
